thanks for the tutorial, it helped. Also, If you’re like me and don’t have a piece of rubber tubing laying around, I found a paper drink cup works fine when removing old oil filter – take off the rubber cap and place the cup under the drain nipple beneath the filter shroud……worked fine and in my humble opinion, was easier too.

sorry but ur supposed to use 5w-30 synthetic blend all year round, not too good to change weights.but u gotta love the ease of oil change service, putting the oil filter on the top of the engine was so smart on toyotas part lol..and look man,it takes 5.5 qts with the oil filter installed.. why ur over filling it with an extra 1/2 qt plus ill never know… also, the old drain plug crush washer needs to be replaced at every oil change.. just go to the dealer and pick up a bag of 20 for 2 bucks

if your miles are below 70 to 80 thousand u should be using 5W-30 Mobile 1 is the best. Only use 10W-30 when the miles are over 85 to 90 thousand because the engine is starting wear just a little bit. USE 5W-30 Buddy!!!

PLEASE be sure to use Toyota oil filter. The filter contains a check valve that prevents oil from draining back in pan when engine is off. This gives your engine instant oil on start up. Fill new one with oil before screwing back on, you will see oil absorb into filter. It is only about $5-$6…worth a little for added protection.

I got a friend that uses royal purple and goes 7K , then a oil change .. It’s more up front, but cheaper in the long run.. And nothing beats Royal Purple..

Oil change every 4,000 miles for Toyota trucks.
Buy the parts at Toyota dealer because is cheaper than auto parts store.
