Toyota mechanic works on a Mercedes Benz. How hard can it be?

Toyota Mechanic works on a Mercedes Benz to do some maintenance and repairs. How hard is it to work on a Mercedes Benz compared to Toyota?

In this video I will be working on my dream car which is the 2012 Mercedes Benz S550 4Matic.

Ever since I was a kid I dreamed of owning a Mercedes Benz S Class. And after many years of hard work I finally got one a few years back and it is a car that I take care of and love!

However I have a situation. My daily driver was totaled in an accident. And with the current climate of cars not being available and prices being too high I have to drive my dream car daily until I can get another new car to buy.

In this video I will be performing a B service on this car. We’ll also be replacing the brakes, replacing the wipers and the key battery.

Also at the end of the video I will share with you why do I own this car and how come a Toyota mechanic owns a Mercedes Benz as a Toy car.

Joe Kim says:

My old ASM who I used to work with for about the first 12 years in the business was a big Mercedes guy. He was even married to a German woman. So occasionally we used to work on it. The last one he had before he retired was a E-550. I hated that car, such pain to work on. One time a guy on the team thought it would be a good idea to put anti-seize paste on those stupid lug bolts. That turned to be a really horrible idea. Next time we worked on the car, we couldn't get those lug bolts off. I think we spent half the day trying to get them off.

Tony Lester says:

Great video and beautiful car my friend. well done…

Capn Pugwash says:

Over a decade ago I used to drive the LS range from the 400 through to the 430s, and they were joy, rather akin to your Mercedes I drove a few Mercs, but never an S Class, Being from the German stable I found the ones I did drive a wee bit too firm. As a retiree with my own Japanese build Rav4 2ltr, I cannot tell you how much I miss that level of comfort. 80–100 effortless. 125 like it has superglue under the wheels. Whether Mercedes or Lexus the top of the range is where I would wish I still was. Enjoy. Oh. and nice video πŸ™‚

Bakhtiar Dusky says:

How do we even work on this car there is no enough room .lol

Bryan Lee says:

I love your attention to detail. I think your original intro music was better, it sounds so powerful.

Peyman Lashgari says:

The rich drive Japanese car, the poor BMW, and Mercedes Benz.

Karl Parato says:

Very nice s class

MSWord Office says:

Besides my new Sienna, I have my old sisters car, that I still drive from time to time. 528xi BMW 2008 e60 with inline six 3.0L engine. It's smooth as silk and floats over bumps yet still handles better than half of new cars produced today. It has 156k miles and I think it will drive another 10 years without issues. German cars are built like tanks.

Hi Lot says:

Sure a nice looking vehicle. THAT said, not a fan of Mercedes. They make nice cars but reliability and cost is a big issue to me. Maybe there is a model that fits that classification, but do not know of a model of Mercedes that is Reliable. Cost will not change. Maybe Toyota can make a model similar to Mercedes in features and design. Not sure Lexus is there yet in design.

Manny C. says:

Beautiful car!

Cristian Chereji says:

It is easier for you to own it, you can repair most of the issues yourself and at least you cannot be fooled by the Mercedes service. Me here in Germany, for peace of mind I prefer to drive a Honda or Toyota πŸ˜€

Kevin Barry says:

"Only train specialist or authorize" that's about as German as anything I ever heard

Jeremy Anthony says:

Ask Scotty Kilmer what he thinks of mercedes.

Lexus Man says:

Great video as usual.Good to see you out on the road with a mini review.Sadly and with no disrespect to anyone i totally dislike any German car manufacturer. They are just so overcomplicated and a nightmare when they go wrong which is frequent.
I,d rather have a LS500 or 600 which is on the same level of comfort but reliability.
But it was very interesting to see you work on your own car.Good luck.

Benito Jerez says:

Hello a have a 2012 Toyota RAV4 how to a auto lock door function went you put it in drive

John Murray says:

AMD, John in Australia again! Years ago, I had a W204 C200 kompressor. Perfect car, let down by the interior.
Very comfortable seats, with 'fake' leather. The dash etc, was very plain and did not look pristine.
Performance from the 1.8 motor was fantastic with good gas mileage. Sorry I traded it for a new Hyundai.
Your honest approach and opinions are great. Be well and the best of 'Irish" luck. (in Australia 40 years!)

Hari Om says:

Wooohoooo! You are a car care nut, not a Toyota care nut, you appreciate a good car

Willie Edwards says:

LEASE IT… always under warranty. Leasing company eats the depreciation. Gotta pay to play. If you're buying, get a Toyota, Lexus or Honda. Thanks for your expert insight.

Gabriel Merza says:

When you said it’s ( Quiet ) like Avalon I smiled because I own 2009 limited Toyota Avalon
