My identical Scion xA…..same powertrain….was bought for $3900 in August of 2013…..with 155,000 all-highway miles. Had it now close to 10 years and approaching 280,000 miles. No issues…..looks new…..drives likes new….never had a car like this that doesn't seem to "age"…..amazing.
My friends rental car business had fleets of these & they held up really well & lasted far longer than most domestic vehicles & years longer than other cheap imports such as Nissan sentra & versa ,& definitely anything Hyundai/KIA

I own two 2008 yaris base s one automatic and one manual transmission both over 200k miles, I only change the oil, tires and fill gas..
Yes, this is a very economical car on gas. Back in 2003, we bought Toyota Echo and I think Yaris and Echo have the similar engine as our Echo gets fantastic gas mileage of about 37 miles on highway and still running strong, no major problems so far. So Yaris must be just as good as Echo.
Yaris owner for 5 years. So True Scotty! The value of something isn't related to it's popularity. God bless you!

I know what Scottie talking about. I brought a 82 Ford mustang, it wasn't like the ford mustang back in the day and now. I brought it had 50,000 mile on it.
After i bought it,, 2 weeks later. The catalytic converter went out. I live in Colorado. Colorado is a place they have emissions inspection. Had to put in at least $200 every year because it would not pass emissions inspection. You had to at least have that much in emissions repair. What a pain
Isn't a yaris made by Mazda?
