I just got a 2018 Tacoma last week that I plan on having for a very long time because I have a 2009 Scion with 179,000 miles on it that still rolling and no major issues. Both manual transmissions because I never owned an automatic.
Electricity is so expensive in Hawaii it doesn’t even help with money. Gotta drive a million miles to finally break even with the extra cost of the vehicle.
They wanted that ESG money

Toyota killed the Tundra, why not kill the Tacoma too! Next, they will destory the 4 Runner.
A new Honda Civic LX starts at around $25-27k. With sales tax it’s $30k at this point. A new Corolla LE starts around $24k before sales tax. You really gotta shop around different states to find a new Honda/Toyota compact car for $20k it’s crazy. 5 year old used variants aren’t much cheaper either.

Hey Scotty, just became a first-time Toyota owner 2 months ago. I bought a front wheel drive 2004 Toyota sienna. So far I am very happy with it, vehicle only has 93,000 miles on it and is very clean, timing belt has been changed already at 65,000. Any tips or issues I should be looking out for on this model vehicle for this year?
Scotty Im with you as far as being s Toyota lover through and through! I own 78 FJ40 that I have owned for 30 years. I also own a 2003 Lexus gs430 that absolutely love black on black my daily driver is a 2007 touring Prius love that car to I've made a lot of money with it and have learned how to work on all the hybrid system when it needs it. Would you do a video or short sometime on all the vehicles that you currently own or your favorite Toyota's you may mention from your past?

Scotty hates turbos, still thinks turbo engines are the same ones from the 1980’s.
why would they do that its one of the best selling trucks in its class Midsize it sold 237,000 units in 2022 good for 5th place in the midsize truck category #1 is Ford F Series which it has been for 46 years running for trucks and 41 for vehicles over all its like changing the Camry to an SUV when most of the fans/buyers still like it as a midsize sedan and its the top selling vehicle in that segment in the US

Toyota should have brought back the straight 6.
GMC did the same thing with their Terrain by putting in a smaller 4cyl with a turbo.
Toyota is late to the turbo "truck game" due research and development. Their turbo engines will set the standard in the turbo engine trucks . I've personally driven a company provided F-150 3.5 echo-boost 150k miles, and it was an awesome experience. No repairs/failures/breakdowns, just oil changes regularly. Fuel mileage not any better than a V-8, but way spunk, sports car feel, and fun to drive. The weak fuel mileage of the 3.5 echo-boost showed itself mostly while towing my camper (3400 lbs), however plenty of power to do so……..My company turned it back in to lease company for a newer model.
I have a dodge dart 1.4l turbo, I will never buy a turbo vehicle again
