Overall toyota still makes the best vehicles in the world and has done for a very long time.
Manual transmission and diesel engine means forever driving.
Hey Scotty I got a 2008 Chevy Silverado 4.3 making a ticking noise only when I accelerate when it’s parked I don’t hear it what could it be ?
It’s turbo went bad already…such a great truck
I traded in my 2009 GMC Duramax Diesel 4WD with a 6 speed Allison automatic transmission in for a 2021 Toyota Tacoma. It would get 23 mpg on the highway and 17-19 mpg in town. I only ever had to replace a glow plug. It was a very quiet engine, much more so than the Cummins diesels. It had 660 ft lbs of torque and 365 hp. I pulled my 32 ft fifth wheel trailer all over several states and fully loaded would get 12mpg. I’m 69 yrs old and don’t want to work around the trailer anymore so I bought the Toyota that, with the V6, gets 23-25 mpg on the highway and 17 in town. I’m sure glad that I did because diesel fuel is $5.50./ gal. I’ll stick with Toyota products because the domestic car and truck companies don’t build them like they used to. Oh, BTW, I just bought a 2022 Toyota Highlander AWD hybrid that routinely gets 35-37 mpg in town and 35 mpg on the highway. It has the usual 3 yr, 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, 5 yr 60,000 power train warranty, 100,000 Hybrid electric system warranty and a 150,000 mile NmHi hybrid battery warranty. Plus a free 2 yr., 2,000 mile free maintenance service. Yep, my 17gallon fuel tank has a 600 mile range. I’ll stay with Toyota reliably and resale value.

So the pracifica or the torqueflite tranny is a Toyota one?

The waste-gate broke so they bought a new turbo? Isn't that like a $1500 repair cost difference?
The reason why Nissan is buying those engines from cummins is because dodge had issues with those engines so they stopped putting those in the rams; dodge's replacements were the ecodiesels.

Scotty has never had many problems with Nissan's SUV's and trucks. It's the CUV's and sedans that are garbage with FWD and the horrendous CVT transmissions.

How dodges used to be, my 01 has cummins engine, dana rear/front ends, Dodge only makes the body. Granted it's still a dodge. 3/4 ton pickup empty 18-19 mph all day long. 12 mpg loaded with camper/boat (16,000 + GVW). NO DEF. I don't know what I will ever replace it with. No diesel with DEF for me. I hate to think of a gas pickup. Toyota twin turbo seems like a piece of junk.
I thought the latest models come with a new 9 speed transmission from mercedes?
I'd rather this or even the 5.6 as opposed to the turbo Tunda
I hate to say, Scott didn't research this truck. At 100k they have lots of issues with the emissions and turbo, and parts are close to impossible to find.
