The real answer is 2011 year

K M Miller says:

I don't want my car to Explode in a accident , WTF is Toyota thinking ?

Dilip Kumar says:

I believe Toyota is right in guessing battery EVs are not the future. I believe hydrogen power is the future

Sam Yoon says:

Who won?
Betamax vs VHS
MD vs mp3

Tech. Itself is important but Toyota should also watch the mega trend of other competitors are doing…rapidly

No doubt that Toyota is great company, though

Duncan Kim says:

EV has many problems

It takes long time to charge the battery
No infrastructure for charging station as many as gas stations.
Not many power stations to provide electricity for all cars
– who is paying for building power stations except for not coal nor gas buring?
– building nuclear reactors costs billions but needed many to cope with the demands of electricity.
Not much resources to make batteries to provide all cars in the world.
-Nickel, lithuim and other resources would not match with the demands
Environmental damages by mining those resources

Gerhard Botha says:

Oh and by the way, Tesla sold over 1 million EV’s in 2023. Way more than any other automaker you mentioned. So just because Toyota can’t design a car properly does mot mean it cant be done at all

Gerhard Botha says:

The driving force for EV is environmental impact. But I believe that the environmental impact of EV’s are even greater when you consider the entire supply chain. At the moment still, the limiting tech is the batteries – in terms of durability, convenience, cost and environmental impact. Other than that, EV’s are way better than ICE vehicles. I just wish we can get real facts and not echo warriors spewing greta propaganda

John Xina Sr. says:

Her in phillipines ev is not even survive… Hahaha

robert jones says:

I like the hybrid method of recharging itself. I despise EV car owners for increasing my taxes to gift them rebates, and sharply increasing my home heating costs because they get favored status while re-charging free at so many malls, and residential rates at home, which drives residential rates for everyone sharply. EV owners, effectively are parasites cruising on a lie.

Mike Ornot says:

I love toyotas idea

Tan WS says:

The biggest EV car maker is BYD. You need to open your eyes to see more before post this crap!

Jack Shen says:

use almost 9 minute to find a lot of excuse and misconception. bz series is a technic junk

Lauras Dvareckas says:

Bad decision that will set Toyota back in development long term. Hydrogen has no infrastructure. EV is here to stay and will be main stay.

George Singh says:

Want to know how good E.Vs are ? Just take a look at the Toronto Auto Trader magazine used car section for electric cars…then make your choice.

George Singh says:

Toyota is the smartest automaker in the world…I agree with them that hydrogen fuel cell is the way to go.

Dominic Yeoman says:

having just seen videos of electric cars with battery fires i think evs are pretty scary

gary Dale says:

Toyota makes best hybrid in the world, and I believe they have 2 or 3 plans for when EV market begins to tap out

Larry Moore says:

Toyota knows what they are doing

philip dowling says:

Hydrogen fuel cell, hydrogen ICE is the only way forward.
Only Toyota can see it.

Kirk Matheson says:

The cost of ev's is going to have to come down before I will consider buying one.

Aa-Ron says:

Very risky. It makes allot of sense in the short term. You continue to service the huge market of late adopters but if EV ends up being the future you will be behind and that warchest you built up by not investing in R&D and new technology will evaporate. Reminds me of cell phones vs home phones. Good luck and in 10 years we will see

Donald Smith says:

hybrids are the answer, Toyota is correct. I will never buy a fully electric vehicle.

Transformation Project says:

You cant talk sense into libtards like Cailifornia and Biden.

Ben Wilburn says:

No on EV for me. I can see a Toyota hybrid but no EV….The government is trying to sell a happy, happy, joy, joy bag of sunshine. We need the infrastructure to build up. Also, batteries are not green. We can do better.

Joe says:

It's like when the Ford Model T arrived and coach builders saying they aren't going to adopt this new fangled technology because people are always going to want horses. And also worth bearing in mind the EV was invented BEFORE the Model T Ford. People may have a preference for one or the other kind of propulsion method. Economics has a big part to play – remember how the Auto Industry conned everyone into thinking Diesels were better than petrol? Well that approach didn't work out too well. Toyota cannot have it both ways – they claim they are covering all the bases, as long as those bases are hybrid, diesel or petrol. The poorly received and problematic BZ4X is hardly covering the EV segment all by itself. The vast majority of vehicle sales are purely based on economics – not the environment or what colour the roof lining is. Once (if not already) it is cheaper to own and run an EV, you won't be able to give anything else away. Which is exactly what happened with the Model T arrived it was plain cheaper and more practical than a horse and buggy. Same when the Ford Transit arrived in the UK and killed off the protectionist and insular Trucking industry. Just because you are the biggest player in the world by numbers does not automatically translate into making the best decisions.

Moor Steve says:

They want to raid and distroy Africa to get even richer

TBirdNeil says:

That does it. My next car's a Toyota. I'm not buying a car from the collaborationist virtue-signallers who are pushing BEV junk.

Diana W says:

Hydrogen combustion is the only truly 'green' and responsible option; that is, of course, if we are going to keep up the charade of 'caring' about the environment or 'climate change'!
And that is why I love Toyota and Japan!

# goodknight says:

bio fuels hydrogen and others are the answer .. BEV as a solution is not viable

Javier Arvizu says:

Why don't ask to the consumer. About ev. Cars personally. I don't like it I don't trust at all. Ask your self a cuestion how long been an market do you believe would last tong time like the ars used gasilne I do t think so
