Wow! now I see I'm not alone on this engine issue.
Cameras are the perfect fleet car of the modern age Strong and well-equipped with a good V6 and they are absolutely freaking everywhere and maybe these days some of the ones from the '80s are hard to find parts for but they didn't make nearly as many back then these things are just perfectly plentiful and hopefully as many stay on the road as possible.
Yeah but… doesn't the burning oil ruin the cat? That's an expensive replacement too!

Toyota should at least give the owners some money for replacing the catalytic converter(s) after they foul up from the oil burning.
Lately I've been amazed by how much service you can get on your entire engine with Lucas fuel additive. You have to keep a super zoomed in picture of the little US flag on your hard drive or else it coagulates in your tank and it will give you a heart attack but my super high mileage car pretty much runs like new just by going into Walmart before I get gas!
Well with what happening with the Kia soul.
15,000 miles burning a quart a week brandy new.
At least it's last one and fifty thousand miles.
Still better that Kia

I wonder what he would think about the Towrolla.
I guess Toyota didn't know about self-adjusting hydraulic valve lifters in 2008 like the ones in my GM 96 Chevy Lumina APV van (290,000 miles). For the ring problem I'd try some Cerma synthetic motor oil with STM-3 metal conditioner. It worked great when the mpg on my van dropped to 13-14 mpg. Brought it back up to 20-21, also eliminated any valve noise.

Scotty; It’s a Toyota so everything works… Never mind the oil burning crappy engine. If this was a BMW, Audi, Hyundai/Kia, Chevy/GM, Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler or Fiat I’d be roasting the hell out of it but a Toyota gets a pass no matter how bad it is. lol
Scotty, can debris build up under the windshield / above the engine bay cause problems? I noticed a lot in this video. Should you keep that area clear?
