WARNING: read the maintenance schedule that came with the car, then research and analyze to determine if it really is a good maintenance plan or not. Perfect examples: my schedule recommends oil changes every 7500 miles. My car is turbocharged…I laughed and change the oil every 3500 miles (mind you it's 17 years old and is getting up there in miles too). My schedule recommends to "check/adjust" transmission fluid, not to change it…I laughed and flush it every 40k miles. My schedule doesn't even mention differential fluid maintenance…I laughed and change it every 40k miles. Lesson here: some maintenance schedules are designed to drive your car into the ground; don't follow them just because they came with the manual.
