Should You Buy a 2023 Toyota Sequoia? In Depth Review By a Mechanic

So Should you buy a 2023 Toyota Sequoia? Did Toyota make a mistake updating another one of it’s ancient trucks?

In this video we finally get a chance to properly review the 2023 Toyota Sequoia in a fashion you normally don’t see in car reviews.

First we start with the technical side of things talking about the engine, hybrid system and transmission. Then we take a tour underneath the new sequoia to see what changed.

Then we take a look at the exterior and interior. Some things we like, some things we don’t like.

Glicerio Mulato says:

Can you please do a review of the new 2023 Honda Pilot?

qik62c says:

Is that a stray bolt just sitting next to the transfer case actuator? jammed or held there by magnetic magic ?

Mabel Joe says:

Don't really care for twin turbos rather have naturally aspirated engine.

MWSR25 says:

I like toyota and large SUV's but The large SUV with mid size SUV cargo capacity concept does not work for me

Jasonbear says:

Question for you my friend! I was looking to get a used Lexus maybe a Lexus is 250 sedan two wheel drive automatic maybe 2016 ish? Do you recommend something else or is that year model something that is a good entry level Lexus as a daily driver? Thanks Jasonbear

Private Salty Cracker says:

I don't like the new engine at all…I'll stick with my Corolla.

Zman says:

Anyone in the market for Sequoia would not even consider looking at a Highlander. And your height is below average, so you can’t expect the manufacturer to cater to every human that exists, there are smaller vehicles in the market

Oleg Lishchenko says:

Great review, not a great vehicle.

Matt MacPherson says:

Made in Texas? I’m guessing? Would never get off the line in Japan with that paint job.

B I says:

When AMD explains about Toyota, life is good.

Cornbread2 says:

If you’re a millionaire sure, if not the 2023 Honda Pilot has rendered this Toyota impractical.

Mister Miracle says:

Great in-depth non-drive review. After the Land Cruiser was gone, the Sequoia has taken a bigger role in the lineup. So you would have expected a “feel” closer to the LC, in between the two vehicles. But it feels very much like a Tundra. I have a lot of faith in the new powertrain. Not too concerned abt the fit and finish. Was this designed in Calty also?

Richard Powell says:

Wow. Two mass airflows, two air filters, a non serviceable wastegate or turbo. Hell no. I'll keep my 2TR-FE naturally aspirated 4banger until I die.

Anthony Szeto says:

I just wish the third row is able to fold flat. Its kind of a deal breaker for me. Please revise the rear cargo area.

John Johnson says:

The shelf is a deal killer for me.

Colorado Boo says:

Today, I changed the oil in my wife’s 2017 Prius (only had 1,500 miles in 6-months but it, still, wasn’t clear looking) Anyway, I learned from another YouTuber a trick to store the oil refill cap up at the hood latch area. Yep, my cap fell right into the hole!! (Had to undo clip to rescue her)

Lord Corgi says:

I love everything about it except that black trim. I can do a better job with spray paint. I'd rather get the 4Runner and save $30k+

Hojat Mahdavi says:

I don't think one can find a better Sequoia review anywhere else.
They had to keep V8 this is overcomplicated for nothing!
Thanks Ahmed.

D C says:

I refuse to buy anything with a turbo. I work on my own cars and don't need any additional complexity to deal with. Gas and oil are cheap, turbos are spendy.

Proto says:

Avoid all new toyota that have turbos and make you pay for subscription services

James DeLong says:

I do live the new model. I'll miss the V8 Tho. Loving the new design on the 2023. Looks a lot better
