In this DIY (Do it Yourself) series we’ll replace a battery in a 2006
Toyota Corolla.
Have a metric tool kit open and closed end as well as a socket kit helps.
Working gloves can help protect your hands and get a grip.

Make sure you check with either the dealer or a legitimate Auto Parts store
for the proper battery replacement.

Also proper disposal and or return the old battery core to the supplier can
get you some money back on your old battery.

Steps I used to replace the Battery: * (Check with authorized mechanic for
battery replacement steps)

1.) remove the bolt attached to the tension rod in back of the battery.
2.) remove the negative terminal first
3.) remove the positive terminal
4.) inspect and clean battery tray area
5.) insert new battery and secure with the tension rod bolt
make sure everything lines up and the battery is properly seated in the
tray.
6.) bring clamp on top of battery line the hole up to the tension rod.
Tighten the bolt on the tension rod so that it is snug. Try to move the
battery it should be secure.
7.) lubricate the + positive and – negative stems on the battery.
8.) attach the + positive terminal first
9.) attach the – negative terminal make sure both are tight and secure and
if they have a plastic cover re-attach the covers.
10.) Start the car, ( car may idle rough until the ECU resets itself.
sometimes shutting the car off and turning it back on will correct the
problem. )
