If you don't know the difference between a valve cover and a cylinder head, maybe you shouldn't be doing this.

imports rok says:

I like how he said if u can't take that off u sldnt be doing this but yet he was calling a valve cover a head.. classic

Fernando Trevino says:

that is a valve cover my friend. the head hold the cam, and valves. when a head is removed it exposes the top of the pistons. you exposed the camshaft and valves (valve cover. also to remove the head the timing chain needs to be removed..

Somchai Domngern says:

lol . the head gasket….. good one.

Jermaul West says:

korikafez says:

I'm getting this code. I have a 2006 Scion xA. P0012 Camshaft Position A Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 1). First mechanic told me it was the camshaft position sensor. Told me my car might not turn on, but it runs just fine so far. I paid him $97 for the sensor, $80 for the job, took him less than 30 minutes. Not fixed. Second mechanic tells me it's the camshaft timing valve, cleans it, puts it back on and charges me $45. Told me that the timing valve might need replacing if it turns on again, valued at $190. Light turned on again.

Edward Prete says:

Thats a valve cover, not a head

How much is the total cost to repair this? Dealer quoted me 1000 plus tax. Not sure whether I want to attempt this project… What do you think?

Jonah Thao says:

did you ever got the p0012 code off? I have the same thing. So I was just wondering.
