Phil Med says:

@4:15 look at how simple and clean that looks. What a pleasure that engine compartment must be to work in.

Rinyotsu says:

Was your phone going off around 2:55?

George Kaplan says:

Once that model was done in the US, Toyota Australia got all the press tools to continue making that shape into the early 2000's. It was still called the Avalon. Originally it was going to be called the Centaur until it was discovered that the Centaur was a hospital ship torpedoed by the Japanese off the coast of Queensland in 1943…

L. cab says:

Most of old cars are just money pit unless it's a pick truck or 2 door jeep with good frame not rust out.

New Used Media Corp says:

Toyota, toyota, toyota

iaint doinit says:

Actually the Toyota Crown preceded the Cressida as their luxury model in the US. I worked for a used car dealer in the sixties who imported bootlegged Toyotas (Corina, Corona, Crown, etc.) as well as bootlegged European model VWs. The Toyotas at that time were reliable but very "tinny".

wally says:

Scotty, I have watched your channel for sometime & appreciate you passing on your wisdom & knowledge…especially about the Toyota cars that will go 300,000+ miles. The other day you said, "Don't buy a car with 150,000+ miles on it and expect to make it a daily driver…it's got a 150,000 miles on it somethings going to break down. I agree, but I am curious as to how I would get a Toyota to 250,000 to 300,000 to 450,000 miles by only driving it on the weekends? Don't mean any disrespect just curious.

TheLizardKing1967 says:

Scotty nailed it with this video. SMART people drive a 1995 to 1999 Toyota Avalon. And that's a FACT. I am the second owner of a 1996 Toyota Avalon XL that i bought in Feb 2001. I still own it and it is my daily driver.

Branon Fontaine says:

You had me at "Never buy a toyota"….Roger that, I'll never buy a toyota…ever….

sc00b3rt says:

We own 2 Avalons. A 2000 and a 2003. Awesome cars. Spacious. Solid. Troublefree.

j freed says:

NEVER buy a car with this known problem!

Only buy cars with unknown problems. Heh heh…

Kevin Khaos says:

If your Toyota rack isn't leaking or the motor's not leaking it's bullet proof, just like any other car.

Christopher Waits says:

My 84 Cressida had 143 HP. A 1992 Cressida has 190 HP

Patrick Walker says:

186k on an Avalon? Pshhh. Young whippersnapper. Got my 2000 Avalon at 203k and now it has 313k on it. It runs well despite neglected maintenance (paycheck to paycheck college student).

Ben says:

The 3.5 V6 vvti problem just required a metal oil line replacement. Not a big deal & it has a tsb

Austin's Tropical Pool Care, Travel, And DIY Projects says:

Hey Scotty! Love your videos they’re very helpful, and they’re hilarious too! I’m looking at a 1991 Mercedes Benz 300E. I have the choice between rear wheel drive and a 4Matic version, both with about 120,000 miles. Which Power train should I go with? Should I go with the diesel or the gas? How much should I pay; under three grand? And yes of course I would get it checked out by a mechanic. Is there potentialy another Mercedes Benz sedan from the mid to late 80s to the 90s that maybe a better option? To be honest, I have fallen for Mercedes diesel’s. Budget won’t necessarily make or break the deal. Thanks in advance!

Hubjeep says:

1:05 Is that a pool cue on the ABS pump? 😀

mr323i says:

, a cresdida has nothing to with the avalon or Camry.

Matthew Gibb says:

It's a Cress EDA not a Cress IDA. American accents are funny but so are Aussie ones
