Thanks for showing direct sensors can & should be coded & calibrated statically while still in the service center. Unscrupulous or incompetent personnel either lack knowledge of the distinctions between direct & indirect sensors or irresponsible to forsake completing the job then dishonest about having to travel for about 15 or so miles before the direct sensors start working when such familiarization applies to indirect sensors. TPMS among most prevalent scams & unnecessary since used for exploitation as responsible vehicle owners always perform manual pressure checks that also are referred by TPMS sensor calibration which further makes these sensors useless but only indulges the industry. Need nullify a useless legislation but as if since entrenched by systemic corruption.

Simple Question yet I cannot find the answer: do the Denso/Pacific “First Time Fit” sensors (exact replacements for OEM ‘09 Highlander) need some sort of process to “wake” them from “hibernation”? I’m assuming they ship in hibernation to prolong battery life. If they do need to be “woken up” – how to do that? You do not show or comment on this step.

The reason I ask is that I do not want to mount new sensors only to be told “they’re bad”, particularly if I’m told that only bc the shop doesn’t know how to wake them up. I’m trying to avoid the Dealer service dept for obvious cost reasons. I do understand that Techstream has to be used to input new sensor IDs into the ECU, but I just need to figure out how to prove I have good replacement sensors to start with, before mounting them.

Any guidance much appreciated.

there's an option within the techstream program to reprogram the ecu for the engine??

Rod Lewis says:

Does the position of the sensor on the vehicle make any difference as to what registration ID it is? What I mean is, is registration ID1 left front and registration ID2 right front or does it matter when entering the numbers?

Edgar Picazo says:

Hi Gearmo awesome vid. Using Techstream I need to register only 4 sensors since I don't have a sensor in the spare tire,

1: Does it matter what numerical order to register ID's?

2: What ID do I enter for the spare since it does not have a sensor?

3: I will be happy to donate for your help.
