Hydro Assist Steering Install | 1st Gen 4Runner

Hydro Assist Steering Install | 1st Gen 4Runner

the biggest benefit of having Hydro-Assist is being able to help you move the large tires all the time. Even when you’re all twisted up with articulation you can still turn your tires.

the Toyota power steering pump is plenty powerful enough to push the new hydrolic ram. so all you need to do is get a Ram and taped power steering box.

We got this kit from Trail-Gear. We also bought the power steering box already tapped for the additional hydraulic lines.

What clamp did you use to attach the ram to the steering rod

A tip I found for bleeding. I installed hydroboost on my 79 bronco along with a new pump and resivoir and basicly drained my system. After spending over an hour I disconnected my ram and bled the main part of the system first, the steering box and the hydroboost then I reattached the ram and bled it in about 5 minutes.
