I would have put a small amount of grease on that shaft spline to avoid dry steel on steel contact. Not that it would wear out before that truck is toast. Maybe Peter did, and didn't show it.
Peter, the next time you get a 3rd Gen Tacoma in the shop could you please let me know the “Depth” of the holes that are in the rear crossmember that the rear skid plate attaches too. They are the 2 holes that are drilled right into the crossmember. I have a 2017 that I put a TRD pro skid plate on and one of the bolt holes got stripped. I managed to grab a couple of threads with loctite to hold the skid plate in place so I don’t want to remove the bolt for fear of not being able to get it back in. If I had the Dept of the holes I can ore order a time sert thread repair kit for the (M8X1.25 MM) bolt hole they use to hold the accessory skid plate in place and fix it.. Thanks in advance. Steve
I wish this was as simple on a 2 wheel drive 1st gen Tundra.

great work 🙂
"Viggle, viggle, viggle." That's the way!
Looks like he needs some brake pads too.
Nice job , it’s amazing how there is no rust or any heating , hammering etc.
Only in California would that bearing come out so easily. In the northeast it would take a lot more effort

Does Peter even own a torch ? Lol
At the very beginning, I see the rotor and think: That's what a car looks like around here, after ONE winter!
Wish my 2000 tacoma were that easy.
Doesn’t look bad but I don’t think my 02 taco is the same.
