Thanks a lot!
Cancel my question. I tried again and pulled the whole housing outwards and
it came off. I didn’t have to do anything with the two black nubs. I
changed my tail lights this afternoon. Thanks!
Often, these videos leave out parts that are important for non technical
people like me, but this one was wonderful. Was able to change the light
bulb myself. In case anyone else has a problem of getting the outside
housing off, one must pull out mostly, not wiggle back and forth. Took me a
little bit of time to figure that out. The auto parts guy couldn’t figure
it out. Kind of funny. 🙂
I use your videos all the time and just wanted to say thank you.
Thanks for sharing!!! Totally helped.
Perfect! So much appreciated!
Thank for you for the help.
Test the power to ther socket with a test light. If there’s power to the
socket and the bulb is new, the socket could be bad. Hope this helps you
out, Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Totally worked! thx for your help!
Changing my brake light, i unscrewed the 3 bolts but i cant get the light
out, seems to be stuck where the black pins are on the outside. I dont want
to force it but how do I get the light out??
Thanks for this! Only used to working on the Nissans I’ve owned but my moms
Toyota needed a fixin’. Very easy to understand this video
Hey! I love these videos they help out ALOT! I had a quick question for you
though. In my 1993 Toyota Corolla, the interior (I believe its dome) light
works on the “ON” position, but does not work on the “DOOR” position.
Regardless of the door it does not go on! Any suggestions? Thank you for
your help!
You may want to check the fuses to see if one is burnt out. You may also
want to check the door jamb switch to see if it’s working correctly or
needs to be replaced. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Yeah, thanks for breaking it down. Seems easy, just a little timely, to
replace.
Also make sure that the wire is disconnected. Once everything is removed
you can try to wiggle it back and fourth as you pull on it and it should
come right out for you.
Just got an older Corolla with some burnt out lights – Not an extremely
technical operation, but I appreciate your style showing ALL of the
pertinent details. A lot of car videos would have simply said “Take out the
tail light assembly” and merely shown how to twist out the old bulbs!
Thanks!
You’re welcome. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
I changed my right inner brake light but it still won’t come on, all of the
other lights work except this one. Any suggestions?
The two screws on the outside are completely worn out and my screwdriver
won’t work. Advice?
I have the same problem on my left brake light. I tried to wiggle it back
and fourth but still no luck. Have your problem solved?
@cheryblosom Thank you for visiting our auto repair channel on YouTube.
Thank you!
The issue could be related to either with the socket or it could be the
wiring for the brake light itself at this point.
If the two bolts on the outside are stripped you may need to find something
that will clamp onto them so that you can remove them. A set of needle nose
Vise Grips might possibly work.
Very grateful to you – once again! BR Matt
