very nice video. i have a question – i bought a replacement mirror online
and it came with a 3-pin socket in the mirror, but my car (japan built) has
a 5-pin connector. what am I doing wrong? Is it due to heated vs non-heated
mirror?
Thanks for the great videos! Is this a Japanese built Camry? My American
built 2001 has an approx. foot long cord attached to the connector so it
appears that I would have to remove the door panel in order to reach the
connection and plug in the heated power mirror. Do you know if I am right?

@bluesky123456789 It’s called a mirror trim plate. It covers the mirror
bolts on the inside of the door.
@TMBRLZ The connector can be difficult to remove the first time. Maybe try
tospray some penetrating oil in it to help free it up.

I bought the side mirror, passenger side but the electrical connection from
the car to the new mirror doesn’t fit. Is there a special type of mirror I
have to order? Any suggestions.
You have to check the VIN # to see if it’s a US built or Japan built
Camry.We carry both styles of mirrors.
I need to replace a passanger side view mirror for an 03 solara. have you
done this before? and is it as easy as the camry?
It should be on the back of the intake near the firewall. Hope this helps

I was wondering What is that plastic plate called at 1.06? I put a crack on
mine while replacing my mirror and now it has a whistling sound when I

I have a 98 camry XLE and it appeared to me that I have to take off the
door panel to get the mirror disconnected/connected. So is XLE different
from what you show in the video? When I purchase the side view mirror, how
do I know if the cord is going to work? Thanks!
What you can do is tape over the glass with news paper and masking tape,
then you can scuff and paint the housing to match the color of your
vehicle. This is how your local auto body shop would tackle the project.

If the mirror tries to move but won’t budge with the switch, you may have
to replace the whole mirror assembly.
