How To Disable Toyota Door Chime – Easy 2 Minute Fix – Key In Ignition Buzzer Disabled

Easy fix to annoying Open Door chime and Key in Ignition Chime. Things to CONSIDER:
This will also disable your interior lights coming on when you open the door. They still come on when you unlock car with remote, but not when I open drivers door which is OK with me, I don’t like to light up myself when I get in car at night. If I want the interior lights to come on I open one of the other three doors and they come on.

Forty Three says:

You know the Toyota warranty doesn't cover you nigger rigging the electronics. You take it back to the dealership complaining about shit not working right and they do 3 hours of diagnostics work only to find out you disconnected the door switch you will be stuck with about a $400 bill or more.

Forty Three says:

Obviously you didn't learn your lesson on your Ford. Don't nigger rig the electronics systems on new vehicles unless you know what you are doing. Messing with the switch will likely trigger codes. You should have found the chime and broke the chimer thingy in it. That switch will be linked to the alarm and a bunch of other important shit that you have no clue of yet.

FYI: If anyone wants to disable the door chime on a GMC/Chevy, note that on mine (2003), the chime is played through the radio speaker. The simple solution was to cut the "key in ignition wire" under the dash. The ignition still works of course, but this way, you still have a working stereo. Mine is completely dark and silent now.

Necramonium says:

Those door chimes are a bitch in every car, our car is a Ford, it only shows a little white led light symbol and you can even turn the sound off! Best damn invention Ford ever did for their cars.

I heard Fords come with hand warmers on the Tail Gate ? The 6.2 Chevy has variable valve timing and cylinder cut off for more mpg

You talk about situational awareness. You changed cameras or filmed with your phone didn't you?

SpiritBear12 says:

Hmmm, I wonder if my 2007 Subaru is that easy. Damn door chime, can't leave the door open and play music at the same time like you could with older cars. The government figures you're stupid and don't know when your friggin door is open. I know it's open! it even says so on the dashboard! I don't need to be dinged to death to know the door is open!

silvergmc says:

Good deal. One of the things I like about my GMC is I can disable the daytime running lights, and the interior lights coming on with the door open. It has factory kill switches for both. You can be completely dark at night.

J Moore says:

Old cars didn't have that problem.
