Great suggestion. I saw that on another video. So People __ Remove top bolt, loosen the other and flip the caliper up and over and you can work on it in place, not stressing the brake hose.

Yep, you got me, no jack stands for safety – ooops. Even though I wasn’t crawling around UNDER the car I should definitely have jack stands in place as a safety precaution. My floor jack being new doesn’t insure safety either. So people PUT JACK STANDS IN PLACE TO INSURE AGAINST FLOOR JACK FAILURE.

Great video. I am going to be replacing my pads soon and this will help me. One safety suggestion though. I didn’t see any jack stands being used. If your jack were to fail or roll somehow the car would come down on you.
There is a proper break in procedure after replacing your friction material (brake pads). You should seat the pads in by going to an area where you can accelerate to 30 mph and do a very aggressive stop, not trying to lock the brakes up, just be aggressive. Do this about 4 times to burnish the pads and it will help eliminate squeaks. Reusing the metal shims from the original brake pads helps to keep brake noise to a minimum. I suggest using the original equipment when doing the brakes.
just a suggestion you can only remove one bolt depends were it opens too to free up the bads the other bolt will help hold the caliper inplace so it doesnt stress the brake hose every time you move it around, and also make it easier when you use the g clamp, just to help out thanks !!!!!
thanks for the video going to change my front brakes next week, the toyota dealer said $400.00. My buddy who is a mechanic said $300.00. I’m doing this next week with my brother who has changed brakes before in 2 of his cars. Nice

if you dont know which brakes to buy go to auto zone online, they will give you plenty of options, just specify the year model and make of your car, i have duralast gold on it and its working fantastic.
I was quoted for 375 on front pads and rotors alone.. Great video.. Does anyone know if you always need ceramic brakes for a Toyota?
