i wish they did. My 2009 does not.

TheSkotter says:

The best and fastest way to do this is take out the glove box and reach behind the dash and plug this in. You don’t even have to take the stereo out. If you have a son or daughter with skinny arms have them do it and it’s even easier. Great unit, sounds great and works well. The only shortcoming it has is if you have it in hybrid mode when you can control the ipod via the touchscreen the text of who is playing does not show on the stereo. Small gripe. Well worth the money.

Great video and great product!!

Ryan Acree says:

No. The RAV4’s, 2006 and newer, have AUX in jacks in the center console. This device gives you controls and text as he shows in the video.

What do you use to drill the hole through that lower compartment (also what size bit)? And do you but any sort of rubber gasket in the hole after you drill it, or does the wire simply feed through the raw hole?

Deb Carson says:

What arethe tools required again?

UncleJCTA says:

In short, yes you can use non-apple. In Australia there is a company called Cushie that sells cables which work with Samsung smartphones. In addition, you can use the AUX (3.5mm jack). OR you can buy the version with a USB port. So lots of options. But if you want to control from the stereo then USB or Apple/Samsung are your only options. USB is a pretty good option, as USB drives are dirt cheap.

Will this work on the 2012 model?

BEST THING EVER!! Bought the GTA car kit for my 2010 Rav4asaur Mon & rec’d Fri for my 4S. Accessed thru the lower glovebox (press each side in slightly and slide toward you; then slide off the shock absorber off on the right side.) Spotted the port in 3 sec, but due to my large meat beaters, it took me about 15 min to massage into the port. I drilled a 1/2″ hole thru the side of the bottom cubbie and used secured the module w/ 2-sided tape. Also bought the vent cell holder. Ideal for nav app.

Yes, it should work for Australian Head unit as well, as toyota plug is universal for all toyota models since 2003.

Chris Dunsford says:
