i have since sold the car so I going from memory only. I believe the door panel lifts up after you get the screws out and window crank off.

thank you for your video mrsillyman, lots of great tips for my install, keep on on modding!!!

the “door lock kit” did not replace the door lock cylinders that are keyed for my keys. it simply added electric solenoids which grabbed onto a lever to lock and unlock the lock mechanism. My old keys still work.

mrsillyman says:

Hey. Im looking to do the same thing you did. I’m just guessing that the 2009 echo has rod style locks? Also Ii am looking to get a two way pager car alarm also that will have remote start, keyless entry and so forth. I’m just wondering also because the kit I am buying comes with remote and a brain box to unlock the doors but I’m still doing with an alarm. Is this all possible

Arthur Galvez says:

how do you hook up the power to the to the door locks? thanks

mrsillyman says:

nope… basically this boring, reliable, 45MPG car was only really missing power door locks. I am pretty happy with everything else 🙂
