even a bad engine mount had it before myself with a clunk out of it

Ed CHEVY says:

i would do a batt check ?

Egregious Blunder says:

You just mentioned in this video what makes a real shop different from half assed shop. Customer service and how you apply a seasoned mechanics knowledge along with the CS to solve a customers problem rather than just tossing parts at an issue and cutting corners to make a buck.

zenoslayer says:

No one thinks that way. An opportunity for previous shop to correct error. Most shops sell them something

Keith Auer says:

Did you at least top off their blinker fluid

Blahorga Slisk says:

But everyone knows you can't make money by actually testing things. Just fire the parts cannon and bill the hours, and above all do not promise that it solves anything…

Pekka Ahonen says:

Good bye ozone layer

Gus Grubczak says:

Opps should have known better. Sorry I jumped the gun.

Bobby says:

Good afternoon Mr Ray enjoyed watching some of your live chat yesterday

Scott Mackintosh says:

At some non-descript factory in the china, there is an 11 year old crying tears of joy, knowing that his job of filling generic brakeclean cans is safe for another day

Leon B says:

By checking and recommending the customer replace the drive belt likely saved them a lot of unwanted costs if broke down along the road or ended up with a less reputable mechanic. Also checking, cleaning the rear brakes actually fixed the problem.

doz says:

I had no idea brake clean could be used like this

Gus Grubczak says:

No torque on lug nuts?

m ph says:

I have found a good deal of front end clunking can come from sway bar bushings and links. The bushings get worn and allow the bar to clunk in that gap.

Prince G. says:

Ray if you see this I just wanna say you are a great mechanic and you are what mechanics need to be this day in time you explain in every detail which is awesome I am well a mechanic and I do the same thing EVEN if if cost me a little money to go out of my way for the customer that way I know the job was done right… Thank you Ray for being one of those Great mechanics that actually cares!!!! Little story I was in a hurry one day so i had Jiffy lube change my oil and Being that I'm a mechanic I mark my oil filters with a paint pen to see if they changed it and guess what??? They changed my oil and didn't not change my oil filter i went up there and told them I busted them for doing shotty work and got the money back for a filter and filter change they charged me for and didn't do it. We gotta take back our name as good mechanics

Adam John Duggan says:

hahahahahahahaha

Brian Sarty says:

it seemed like forever for you to go from 499K to 500K, but like overnight you got 501! grats!

Andrea Echevarria says:

I like it when you work on cars I own. My 2015 Corolla LE makes that same front end clunk. Now i know. TY

Tim Nissen says:

Its called a bearing plate !!!!

Willard Dunn says:

when relacing a belt I don't throw it away I put in a plactic bag and put in the trunk for spare. if new braeks you have a belt to get you to safty and a new belt.
My daughter broke belt one time and belt in the trunk got her home.

Chef Matt says:

Always adjust after the drum is on….. there’s always going to be a rust/wear ridge on the drum.

Bob Lemon says:

Think I would have looked at those struts closer and let them know if the mounts were bad or not put together correctly (lose bolt) but you are right in letting the shop that did that work have a chance and resolving the issue. I’m guessing they get the “it was fine when it left here” but you know there are other honest mechanics out there, let us know how it works out for them

John Smith says:

Do you clean, check pulleys before new belt install?

Darin Barfield says:

The reasoning for your rant regarding the other shop,
Is the exact reason; I tend to attempt to do 90-95% of all vehicle repairs,
As well as household repairs myself.
Most do not have any level of professionalism & attention to details,
Not to mention accountability.
Lastly…
I had a undiagnosed rattling noise on my truck,
Addressed front end parts & suspension… which likely needed upgrading & maintenance themselves,
Only to find the rattling continued,
Eventually replacement of parts within the steering column,
And that fixed my issues.
