A 300,000 Mile Toyota Inspection. What Problems Does it Actually Have?

We perform a thorough inspection of a 2004 Toyota Camry with almost 300,000 miles to see what will it take to keep this car on the road?

Taking car of your car from day one will pay off in the later life of the car just like it did with the owner of this 2004 Toyota Camry. Almost 300,000 miles and all it needs is some suspension work and brakes.

Folks take care of your cars and they will take care of you. Taking care of your car doesn’t have to mean spending a lot of money. It is about caring about the car and understanding what kind of maintenance and care it needs.

Jay ONeill says:

You apologize for the dirty shop but to me it’s the cleanest shop I’ve ever seen. I wish you were in Los Angeles !!

Froggy 01 says:

Holy crap – drum brakes on it! That must be something for the US market only. These are all disc in Japan Australia and Europe.

Interesting they cheap out for the yanks…

J_Sizzle says:

Love the '87-'88 Supra used to have a one same color. The only issue with these Supra is leaky gasket which the oil will flood the spark plugs/coils.

Chuck Jansen says:

Hi thank you, always something to learn watching your content. Can you please tell us about the white supra next to the camry at the beginning of the video.

Brock O'Bama says:

I'm on team zip tie when it comes to covers like those.

Jaime Aaron Sanchez Cavazos says:

I wish I had mechamics this good in my area

Jilted Valkyrie says:

I have a 2003 version of this exact car/colour. It's my first car and I got it the same day I got my license in Sep 2021… repainted the peeling clear coat on top half witih a matte black, put a Magnaflow muffler on it, added a lip kit, replaced headlamp assemblies/added LEDs, and put a Celica wing on it. It really is an amazing car that just goes down the road reliably! Almost 220k miles on mine. I did my own brakes and tranny fluid change. Also do my own regular oil changes, as well as new shocks in the back (I raced it in Rallycross offroad, so the original rear struts went). It is seriously a cheap, easy car to maintain.

David Lampe says:

Nice job keeping your Camry I have an old Scion xB but it’s not as clean or as nice. Still goes down the road which is why we love them.

dings vomdach says:

My Toyota is Fantastic ♥️

Chuck Cecconi says:

I really love the thorough job his inspections are..

Little Star says:

Damn it, just talk about the Supra!!!

Raptor50aus says:

Hey TCCN I have the same model car but the V6 Altise. Do I need a scan tool to check why the cruise control does not work? I can not find a fuse ?

polok890 says:

You dont see many Toyota's with 300k, even tho people say they run forever

Driving Immersion says:

If you ever thought of keeping your car for a long time, you got to do this; Fluid Film undercoating. I live in Michigan. The product has stopped any further rusting on my '15 4Runner. It is an easy DIY project or find a business that can do it. Yes there are other brands but you are opening the door to "Diminishing Returns". Once the parts and underbody begin to rust away, it will be the beginning of the end. This is why I traded in my '99 4Runner in 2015.

SNIPEYOPIPE says:

Hilarious about the paint. My 2011 has Toyota's new signature clear coat failure option. Car has 80,000 miles on it and the clear coat is failing in multiple areas. Classic 6th-gen issue.

Юрий Помаленкин says:

Такая же, только 2003 года выпуска, пробег в миллях 235000. Пригнанная в РФ в 2008 году из США.

Jim Deecken says:

The OEM concept needs to be addressed. Aftermarket struts, springs, brake pads, brake rotors,. etc. can be way, way better than OEM.

Graydon Blair says:

Owner of a 2006 coming up on 200000. Love it! Great to see one here!

Loay Ali says:

Thank you for this. I drove the same model from 2005 to 2009. What a reliable car this is. Did nothing for 4 years but oil and filters change.

Patrick Boyd says:

Tesla Graveyard, please show me a Toyota Graveyard #NOT

li cung says:

Hmmm… So now rust is the problem

Patrick Boyd says:

I just got rid of my 2009 Acura TL SHAWD with 206,700 miles on it. and replaced it with a 2008 Toyota Highlander 4WD base with 138,400 miles on it. the reason why i got rid of the Acura was because it had rear seal leak. and it needed a new water pump, I had the car for 9 years and 2 months. when i bought the Acura in 2013 it only had 99,100 miles on it, I wonder how long my Highlander is going to last.
