Thanks for the heads-up.

Militarized Citizen says:

Yeah, I taught myself as I built the video. It’s one of the easiest things
to do on that vehicle. Glad it helped!

BestCPAPprice says:

Great video, but I would also like to see the procedure for pulling the
rotors and checking the e-brake shoes.

BestCPAPprice says:

Also, I like to lubricate the pins that hold the caliper on with some white
lithium grease or some of the special brake grease you can buy at the parts
stores.

Militarized Citizen says:

I’ll see what I can do. I’ll have to wait for another open weekend to
figure it out and get it uploaded.

Militarized Citizen says:

That’ll be the next video… hopefully coming soon. I’d like to get the
rear rotors turned.

Wow, a huge THANKS for posting this. The shop wanted $800 to do the front
and rear, i did it for about $100 in parts. It took longer to jack up the
car and get the wheels off than it did to replace the pads. The hardest
part is pushing the calipers back in enough to get the new brake pads on –
I ended up using channel locks and it worked fine. This was my first time
to attempt to take this on myself and it went on without a hitch. This is
not hard for the mechanically inclined DIY-er.

Yea, the e-brake replacement is a video that I cannot find. From some posts
that I’ve read, it can be a difficult procedure. It’d be great if you can
do it in detail.

Roosevelt Houston says:

very easy to replace on my 2005 toyota 4runner. took under 2 hours to do
front and back brakes.

Samuel Ray says:

Use a “C” Clamp to press the piston back into the caliper… very easy and
quick
