https://amzn.to/34sgW9a – Dorman – OE Solutions 926-240 Timing Chain Tensioner O-Ring (used in the video) The amazon parts lookup says this doesn’t fit this vehicle, but it does. It worked great. I checked the eBay compatible vehicles for this part, and this vehicle is listed.

Just a quick video showing how I changed the timing chain tensioner o-ring on a 2005 Toyota Corolla. This is the same for the Toyota Matrix, MR2, Celica, and Pontiac Vibe with the 1ZZFE engine. This is a very common oil leak, and is a pretty easy fix.

Tools needed:
10mm deep socket
3/8″ ratchet
screwdriver
19mm socket to turn the crankshaft pulley

The torque spec on the tensioner nuts is only 80 inch pounds (about 6-7 foot pounds).

Thanks for watching!
