we knew that we live in a rusty land so why ??? why?? dont you do a protective measure if the manufacturer did not ,, why? people

@user-nw9kc7dz3l says:

You forgot to say that the coolest thing on the FJ , is the beautiful Salvadorean flag hanging on the rear view mirror .

I like Toyota reliability but some of their design can be a bit hit and miss. Wife and I had an FJ cruiser for a weekend interstate trip. We hated it. Very poor vision. Hopeless back seats. Just too much compromise for the retro appearance.

AMD my manual Corolla has 170klm and the throw out bearing has just started making slight noise when I depress the clutch.. The rest clutch is fine but I'm going to get a complete new clutch kit installed once it gets more severe! In your opinion how long does it usual take for this to get really noisy??

Can you make a video on the boys is 300 with the 2jz-fe

Thank you! Since you know both, it would have been nice to compare this recurring $1800 dollar repair on the manual to your experience with the auto transmission FJ cruiser. A wearing out part throw out bearing repair cost vs an FJ AT that with only normal AT fluid changes cost and no worn out parts to replace would certainly help a new buyer cost of ownership calculations. 4 FJ's on, i never had a problem with the AT on any of them. But after owning four FJ's, i hated that Toyota discontinued it's after market bolt-on supercharger kit for the motor; the motor downshifted going up interstate overpasses, in Florida! i hated the 19mpg with 19 gallon fuel tank. i couldn't even get from Fort lauderdale to the GA state line without refilling the tank. now you show toyota coulda put a double gas tank located where the old spare tire space is! FJ Windshields? never replaced one, i didn't tailgate in my FJ's, knew it would take forever to stop that tank. i'd crank the wheel and count the seconds before the tires would respond in a curve. but the spiderweb windshield cracks on my old Chevy pickups when the chips got heated in the Texas sun, woooeee! And the Scion XB windshields broke just driving off the toyota dealership lots. The rust has been covered in great detail starting with same on the Toyota tundras ca 2007. What you neglected to mention was the piece of iron armor that Toyota took from scrapping old battleships and placed in the doors of the FJ to prevent side impact collision damage to the occupants. really built like a tank. laughing at the camera: real men drove FJ cruisers before the cameras showed up. first top o the line models had parking sonar. 2013-14 crawl control made the FJ sublime, then toyota made them gone, except for buying it with 4 real doors and 20k more in price as the 4Runner. Like you say, the FJ lives on as the 4Runner, same underneath, built on the same hino truck assembly line.

The toyota Fj cruiser seems to have Aisin warner build transmission, they are not bullet proof as many think often you get problems with it especially solenoid after 8 years of normal use.That chassis needs rust convertor to protect it once every year cheap and easy with a paint brush

@gabrielb.7730 says:

Can you or would you recommend injector cleaner brand like amsoil?

@howebrad4601 says:

Owning several toyotas as well as other makes, i feel toyota needs to do a better job of rust prepping their designs. Why arent these frames factory dipped and coated, and are instead just painted steel. Obviously just the painted steel isnt going to resist rust very long. My gm pickup frame has a rubbery feeling coating on the whole frame that resists rock chips and rust. Ive also seen some ford frames that are just painted steel as well.

Keep your foot off the clutch.
Got it.

@kw0s says:

What is that "Handle" in 4:42? A manual window crank, hidden?

@vancity2349 says:

Great video. Put me down for not knowing the FJ came in a manual….

@johnthompson7548 says:

My 95 Subaru legacy had a bad throw out bearing. That when I pressed the clutch, it sounded like a turkey.

@timkiwi says:

That car would pass yearly inspection in many countries with that much rust

@nekto34 says:

I have a 4th gen 4runner with a very chipped and cracked windshield. Living in AZ, it seems like every time I'm on a highway, things just keep flying my way. Almost makes no sense replacing the windshield!

@stoutlager6325 says:

I was so close to buying an FJ once upon a time. That one was an auto. It would have been a great deal as that was shortly before the prices on them went crazy.,

@DaveSoCal says:

20 years with Toyota service , when u said windshield I fell over ! How true !

@devildog5354 says:

Painful to see all that rust. Curious where this one was driven?

@DylanTK says:

my dad had a 2014 offroad with low miles, and it was a quirky vehicle for sure, but man they are great offroad. that said, ours got terrible mileage and you will for sure replace that windshield once every 1-2 years without fail lol.
