If someone can figure out how to bypass the security code on these radios that would be great.

MrSuperdog1997 says:

You don't have issue with security code from the replacement radio?

Nice upgrade. Like you it will be taken apart before replacing. Ive kept a couple of tv's alive changing capacitors. A quick look at the board revealed a distorted and blown top to the defective capacitor. Only a couple of pounds to fix. I wonder how many end up scrapped for this sort of simple fix.

Similar, common and opposite. Consumer electronics, typically satellite receiver boxes, which are always powered on experience a network power failure for a number of hours and do not function following restoration. The electrolytic capacitors are goosed prior to the power failure but the unit still works. During the failure the capacitors discharge and go high impedance .

My 6 disk radios AM channel died after about 2 years. It would work for 30 seconds to a minute before something heated up and stopped working. FM was still ok. Probably a faulty capacitor. It was a common complaint on the clubsx4 forum. Ended up replacing it with one of the Chinese DVD units.
