done this today following advice from elsewhere on the internet! you need
to drill the holes to 3MM… you can leave the caliper attached to the
hydraulic system, so no messing! its a BIG win, and no more messing in the
future with seized pins!

Ross O' Donovan says:

I admire you Enginuity and Ways Of tackling Seized Pins ,Because I do not
have the necessary tools to Customize a punch . Yet alone Tackling the Cast
piece Caliper with a drill for Fear of cracking it . I would Suggest
putting a Hacksaw Blade Between the pins and Cut them In half , Simply
Remove with a Needle Nose plyiers and replace with New pins

Robert Wright says:

glad it did the trick m8 ๐Ÿ˜‰

Gixxxer4200 says:

sweet good idea. why cant they just be screw in pins ya know

Robert Wright says:

nice 1 glad u got it sorted m8, ;0)

Bone T says:

Brilliant thought i was stuffed this did the trick

shauniebabes says:

If you cut them in half with a dremmel you can get them out no problems.
Replacement pins are only 3 quid

Lisa Henshaw says:

I’ve just heard these same comments about bad design etc etc for the past 2
hours lol. Also, have you ever tried splitting a Suzuki caliper? you’ll
just round the alen heads off cos they’re made of cheese

mickinarage1983 says:

Such an annoying design flaw! I ws gonna just cut the m out with the dremil
but might try this first

Robert Wright says:

Budgit bin bike, budgit bin pins, lol… still a cracking motor mind. Use
the method in the vid and you wont have to split the caliper, ๐Ÿ˜‰

Robert Wright says:

Nice 1, they are a right bastard to get out otherwise.

Brian Binns says:

Thanks a lot for the video, just went to change my brake pads, front were
easy and straight forward. The back however was not, same problem. Mates
taken them to his garage so he can get them on the bench and split the
caliper, if he cant get em out he will use this technique. Cheers.

MrGixter says:

Great trick with the pins, I had the same problem and both pins had siezed
but after drilling the holes the pins tapped out perfectly with a drift..
Thanks…

nice one bud. been fucking about with these pins for a couple of
hours, looked this up, sweet worked a treat. tried heat and all. this took
me ten mins. job done.

Ross O' Donovan says:

I was also advised too heat the Area where the Pins are Spring locked into
place , to expand the Metal , But this would only Upset my own Integrity .
LOL along with the metals .The front Calipers have A a threaded bolt with
Locking pin for easy access , surely there must be a reason for the Back
Caliper not Having the same Mechanism ?
