@Isaiah Weinam Ya it is a rip off. its unfortunate, isnt it? I called the popular local dealership about them changing my stator. For parts and labor they said $725. Ya? I did it myself under $75 a couple hours and some oil drops on mydriveway

dawino6260 says:

about 350 in parts and 2.5 to 3 hours labor .. based on a 2000 GSXR . Stator from Ricks motorsports, battery from autozone and rectifier from Amazon Stator cover gasket from bikebandit…

Isaiah Weinman says:

my bike would not start in the morning so i took it to a shop. they said i needed a new battery, stator, and wiring harness. and wanted to charge me $1,800.00. is that a rip off?

TheAugustFoX1080P says:

Just to add to what Dawino said. Your bike has oil flowing through ( both the left & right lower sides of it dude ). If you leaned the bike all the way to the stator side with the cover off, all of your oil would come out ~

TheAugustFoX1080P says:

Aight fuckers & fuck heads.. HaHa ~

dawino6260 says:

YOUR stator is oil cooled – not like the old Hondas with an excited puck – your mags are permanent and your windings are sealed in some goop thats impervious to oil… well supposed to be anyway… Time for a new stator cover.. NRC if you like yourself – stock if you dont

Cody Mills says:

why would there be oil or fluid behind the cover? i laid my 07 gsxr750 down and i have a hair line crack on the cover that is letting what looks and smells like motor oil leak through and i dont understand why the oil is there considering it is a generator

dawino6260 says:

I’ll leave it there another month or so… I figure either someone will drink it by mistake or I’ll use it to bleed a set of brakes

dawino6260 says:

40 minutes +30 minutes to put the plastics on and off, $19 worth of new fairing bolts So 2 hours shop time is fair – 135 an hour x2 =270 plus tax …. I dont charge folks to pop by and let em use wrenches though.

great thanks for the help

dawino6260 says:

AC is AC if I remember right — all that matters on that plug is the black and red — the 3 yellows can be in any order

Hey Todd, I Just bought a 77 CB750F, Im trying to get it back on the road, but i found that someone has cut the connector off on both the stator and the main wiring harness where the stator plugs into,, The Stator Tests Ok. My question is does it Matter which of the 3 yellow wires on the stator match to the yellows on the harness? Thanks Mister
