Xeil says:

I actually had this issue on my GPZ. I thought I had got it in properly,
but I found myself not being able to read my speed when I went to the gas
station to get brake fluid because my rear brakes bled out on accident lol
(fixed that too). It eventually caught and is working now, but i’m glad to
know that something so simple can help a lot. 🙂

agiantman says:

I like this dude’s attitude. Thanks for the tip!

christian bressette says:

After I put em back together it pissed fuel out of the over flow then it
stopped and the engine cut out so do you think that’s an improper float
adjustment ?

ronald ferreira says:

how will i know if it worked

christian bressette says:

Hey I have a question I have a 1978 gs750 and the carbs arnt giving the
engine enough fuel to run it was running fine and it just stopped running
so I hook the floats out and bent them a bit and it worked for 1 min and
stopes running and idk what could be wrong in the carbs

triblemaster says:

can you show how you change the speedometer gear box?

dawino6260 says:

sounds like you bent em the wrong way and are starving em — Should be able
to just google the float gap – and yes even with brand new floats – them
old brass ones have to be gapped every time

dawino6260 says:

Generally I’ve been getting em pre-lubed — when in package if caps on both
ends=probably pre-lubed if no caps on ends = probably needs to be lubed

dawino6260 says:

Think that one has the newer single screw with a push in… but yes pretty
much all cable operated speedos

Patrick Sohm says:

On my scooter, both connections are OK, but the cable by the wheel, just
broke up. I guess I need to change it, but hard to find the right one for a
Motorstar 150cc.

dawino6260 says:

The speedo should move if you spin it… Did you rotate your wheel a little
to make sure the sending unit is spinning? (lot of guys mess those up when
they put their wheel back on – those little ears on the cheapies are a sad
joke – the real gear ones dont do that though)

dawino6260 says:

good source is “parts for scooters” without the spaces stupid crap wont let
me post a link but you get the idea on what to add behind it

mm m says:

thanx a million i have to install my first ever speedometer and couldn’t
figure how the hell its hooked up

benlegend199 says:

fuckers and fuckheads

steve walsh says:

Thank you very much. I am fixing the cable on an ’82 KZ750 after I put a
better tire on the front. Speedo worked exactly like you said for a couple
blocks then nada. Much Regards.

Tumbleweed Folf says:

Son of a bitch my intruders speedo cable just broke. Nice timing fucker!

FoSbaKiaS says:

i went over a road bump and my speedometer stopped working. I assume a
cable must have slipped off, but how can i fix this? anyone has an answer?
