How to replace rear shocks in a Suzuki Kizashi

How to replace rear shocks in a Suzuki Kizashi

I will start by saying this video is not the best I have done but it does show the steps and tricks to take off the shocks. This is not a one handed job so filming was incredibly hard but I got the job done. without filming I finished the other side in under 20 minutes.

Great video! I don't have a Kizashi yet but hopefully soon! 🙂 I want this to be my first car! It's either that or a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport or Subaru Crosstrek. Any thoughts? Can you do video on how to do an oil change on it? Much appreciated. Thanks!

Great video, but you'll want to also change out those rear bump stoppers. Those look like the old type that have a design flaw that promotes corrosion by trapping water and moisture. This causes the rear shocks to fail prematurely. There's even a Suzuki Technical Service Bulletin about it. If you replace the rear bump stoppers with the new corrected design, your rear shocks will last longer. It's evident you've had to replace the rear shocks multiple times at this point but it looks like you're using the same problematic bump stopper. The bump stopper is the reason why they keep failing so you should use the newer "countermeasure" design.
A lot of info on this issue over on the Kizashi owners forum: http://www.kizashiclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=3186

Just bought a 2010 Kizashi SE, so far enjoying it very much. The lack of DIY videos is a surprise. Finding your videos today was extremely rewarding. Please keep them coming. Great job!
