Dr. Arthur D. Kemp says:

Daydriana, most of the churches that I play in are Black churches. And to
be honest, I have played too many organs that look like this. Without
question, there are various types of furniture cleaners and polishes
available but all too often, people – including the musicians fail to
maintain the instrument’s cabinet. It’s sad but true. I have had to remove
batteries that damaged the wood, nails, screws, food, drink residue and all
types of things from church organs. Yes – the old cracked and reglued key.
That is something that is easy to replace. I find it interesting when a
church is willing to spend $2000 on a new 122A but connect it to an organ
that looks like this.

It’s cool to see one of those new. I bet they don’t make very many anymore.

Looks like a well made instrument! Now to get the Console refinished 🙂

what’s the tune?

daydrianh says:

thats pretty offensive … a black gospel church …. shame a better use of
words next time @wildbilltexas

seawind0721 says:

Just imagine what it would look like after Keith Emerson got finished with
it!

wildbilltexas says:

LOL I bet it would look horrible. On this model I noticed the missing
screws from the top cover and the cracked keys that looked like they were
glued back together. I wonder if this organ was from a a black gospel
church.
