Hi Del, Started doing my 8K service on the Honda NC700X and noticed that
the coolant expansion tank was empty! Panicked and phoned the dealer and he
said probably an air bubble has escaped and made way for the coolant which
it’s taken from the expansion and I should just top up the expansion. Did
that, and I’ve noticed that it has dropped ever so slightly again! I’m
hoping more air has escaped and that I just need to keep topping it up
until no air left and the reservoir remains stable after a few top ups. How
many times do you think I should top it up before I start to look at more
serious causes like an external or internal leak! There’s no puddles on the
garage floor to suggest leaking out the bike, so would leaking INTO the
engine be a likely candidate? The bike has only done 8K and I’ve never had
any warning lights on the dash to suggest thtat the bike has overheated!
What you think? Any thoughts, suggestion, words of wise old wisdom?
