lol, the “shorter stick” part youre referring to doesnt actually make the shift shorter, thats really just for looks. its the distance between the base and the rod connected to the tranny that makes the difference. that distance is longer than the stock stick, changing the angle of the rod, creating shorter throw.

trido1986 says:

so basiclly this just a shorter stick?
why do u just cut OEM one shorter and make s.o threads

nukem384 says:

SPT does make a short shifter for the car, but its not stock. you can add it on when you buy the car i believe or just outright buy it later like you would the Kartboy. compared to stock, the Kartboy is wayyy shorter, i believe 50-60% and not, sound is the same with the bushings. id def. recommend the bushings too, makes way more difference than the actual stick.

Hey man, thanks for yous vids they’re awesome! I thought that the STi comes with a factory short shifter. Does the Kart Boy Shifter provide any noticeable difference, and does it sound different with the kart boy bushings?

Manny C says:

Just got done installing the short shift, had no problems! YOU THE MAN! Thanks!

E M says:

Good video! Can u do that to my car 🙂 good job.

nukem384 says:

haha, thats in the video. the allen wrench part is under the car

feddy69 says:

I was reading that some people had to go underneath the car to do something with the reverse lockout cable. How come you didn’t have to?

DONx3 says:

Wrx is way easier than Sti because we don’t have the reverse lockout part.

nukem384 says:

we finally did the bushings :P. check my page for the video!

nukem384 says:

i change the oil filter with every oil change.

Nhu-Y Van says:

hey man, thanks for all the videos uploaded, very helpful man, btw, i have a question, how often do i have to change the oil filter? thanks alot man

nukem384 says:

its pretty much the same thing besides the reverse lockout part and no getting under the car for you. and of course the console is different.

Reid Johnstone says:

think it would be similar with a 2004 wrx?

nukem384 says:

definitely. from what ive read, the bushings make a bigger difference than the actual stick. one day when my friend isnt lazy, well put those in and make a video on that lol

wildhacker7866 says:

Would you recommend kartboy shifter bushings too.. your videos are awesome man.

nukem384 says:

shorter shifts, literally, more solid and crisp feel

NowImRevo says:

Hey, I hate to sound like an idiot but what is the purpose of a short shifter?

nukem384 says:

thanks man. appreciated.

nukem384 says:

yeah its still notchy, even when the car is warmed up. i think the STi trans in general is just notchy

Ivan Jurado says:

hey man, just want to show my appreciation for the vids, incredibly useful since i have an 05 wrx. keep it up man you’re awesome

ondafly says:
