The headlight assembly has grille-clips attached to it, so it does need to
come off.
You don’t have to pull the headlights just unclip the front edge of the
wheel well liner and you can pull it back and access those bulbs from
inside the fender. Turning the wheels in help with more clearence.
So, do I have to take the grill out as well before I can take the headlight
assembly?

The headlight assembly has some of the grille clips ON it, so you need to
remove the grille also. Pretty poor design, but gotta love Subaru. Thx

Thank for the awesome video re: replacing the headlights on the Subaru
Forester. Of all the sites, searches and info gathering we did, yours was
the best. You saved these two old West Virginia Hellbillies from hitting
the still too early on a Friday morning. That came after we lite up the
headlamps!
