———– 🔹 Origin of the SubaruONLY Channel 🔹 ———–
I started this channel to share my passion for BUILDING and RACING Subarus! These cars and their engines are awesome and they are one of the most versatile and reliable platforms in the automotive industry (IMHO 😁). Not only that, but they have always done it with a style that is totally unique and all their own! That, and the fact that these cars make GREAT race cars, and I was sold from day ONE!

I love these cars…I have for many, many years and I’ve owned many, many models (although I have to admit, I have become a bit partial to the older Subies, as they just have SO much damn character!). I’ve also been fortunate enough to have the opportunity be get involved in a wide range of Motorsport competitions. From the Baja 500/1000 races, to competing in circle track races, to RallyX, and sand/paved drag racing – It’s been an awesome journey so far and I just wish I started documenting it all sooner!

Julia McCauley says:

I bought a 2004 impreza. Finally getting the engine ready to time and there is no cover to let me line it. May be a foolish question but im not sure what i should do. First time puting an engine back together.

Michael Bermudez says:

This is a great video. I have a 2000 impreza outback sport, sadly though i think my valves got damaged when my Cog pulley locked up because the bearing covers or gates somehow went missing and i don't know if something got inside or but it looked like i was Missing a few ball bearings and i want to say the pulley locked up and ate there my belt. My dad and i replaced the belt and all the pulleys with the same gate timing belt kit you have and followed your directions in this video, but it sounds like it misfires when it turns on. So after doing more research and watching this video again is how we think my valves are damaged.
Anyways i was wondering if you can make a video on how to remove the motor, That would be really awesome.

Max Hartmann says:

ESPN OCHO says:

Great video big fan of your channel Quick question what's the worst that can happen If idler pulleys and tensioner are over tighten? Besides stripping bolts

Jose Segura says:

What size vise did you use?

RC Hobbyist Extreme says:

I wouldnt use Gates ANYTHING! They are TRASH! I have had too many Gates failures in the past. Belts mostly. No, its not the Mechanic when a cheap ass belt fails. Keep you eye on it? Is that what you tell your customers? Keep an eye on it? Stop wasting money on Aisin is 100% Japan. Why would you ever trust CHINA crap on a Subaru? Your tips are helpful, but your choice of products….questionable.

Frank Kistler says:

Fitted the kit yesterday.. Straight forward with your tips.. All worked out great, still dont like chinese idlers, but then again i saw many negative comments but nowhere anything that these idlers blew up… So i guess i will make sure to refit new kit in 80000km or so.
