(1) 1994 Subaru Impreza 1.8L AWD w/ 5-Spd.
I’m swapping an EJ20G Turbo motor (1996 JDM STi) into this little white GF series hatchback. The motor is now complete. This will be the next build series.

(2) 1993 Subaru Legacy 2.2L FWD w/ 5-Spd.
I’m currently racing this car in a state-wide RallyX Series called the California Rally Series. This car will be heading to the drag strip in coming weeks – Stay tuned for that! The car is mildly upgrade with aftermarket exhaust and intake.

(3) 2000 Subaru Forester 2.5L AWD w/ 5-Spd.
I’m do the head gaskets on this one. See the current build series.

——– Build Status and Video Summary ——-
This video is Part 3 of a build series doing the classic HEAD GASKET repair on a 2.5L Subaru engine. The general concepts outlined here however, typically apply to ALL Subaru head gasket repair jobs.

The engine is out and fully disassembled, I had the heads surfaced, I removed all the carbon buildup on the exhaust valves, the heads are fully assembled, and now it’s time to install the head gaskets and torque down the heads. I walk through all the prep of the surfaces, installing the MLS Gaskets, and torquing the heads down to factory specs. Here’s the video – Hope you enjoy!

please list the sequence, or share a diagram.. I can just google it. but it would be nice if its all in this one page. also I noticed the cam cover was was not on the head at first. whats the process of putting that down? do the head bolts also tighten that down or its got its own bolts?

Hey great channel! , I have a few questions, i am from Canada Ontario, I have a 06 subaru impreza 2.5i 155km and it needs a headgasket repair (have not done timing belt, water pump) i was quoted 2,850.00 CAD , i was wondering if this is something I could do at home, since i have done a few small repairs before, I work 9-5 mon-fri.. Is it even worth it to do it myself and is 2850 a high price? They told me it includes changing timing belt wtrpump+idler pully and spark plugs n a bunch of seals. Would really appreciate your opinion, is it even worth it? The car is worth about 5k.. Thank you in advance for your time.

Very Classy Video!!! Do you have to do steps 1-3 if you are re-using the head bolts? I was under the impression that was only to pre-stretch new bolts
