Thanks for the video..I was searching for the rear seal for Forester but found no video on youtube. Just curious, what the symptons of a bad axle seal? Can this cause a thug vibration noise from rear left when you make a hard left turn for the left seal? I'm suspecting the axle seal because when I grab and shake the axle, I can hear a clicking noise. Yes I replaced the new CV axle. Any help would be great!

Do you drain the trans fluid first??

How do I actually know it's seated correctly or flush with the transmission? Is there a chance to accidentally push it too far in? Thanks

Went to a shop for the cv axle replacement and they had my car on the lift the mechanic was there took a cutting torch and cut the axle in half to pull it out also he removed the pinch bolt and that broke so he torched that as well now my car is still not fixed as they can't get the bolt out as it hardened… never go to a cheap shop!!!

I tried to do this today but got stuck on the CV axle removal part. Did not have a pickle fork. My CV axle is intact, unlike the one in your video. Would you recommend a pickle fork for my stuck axle or would it destroy it? I'm not sure it matters since I need to get to that seal whether or not I destroy the axle in process.

I assumed it was simple but its good to confirm.

Appreciate the vid.
