@rosie684 100k is a little long for the iridium stock plugs. I went with
the NGK iridium and replaced them 65k. I hope that your plugs were shot and
not something bigger.

@xxZR2xx I respect your right to comment so respect this, I don’t want to
touch everything I own after oil and grease are embedded in my dry skin and
touch my wife and cat with the same oil and grease soaked hands. Nice way
to make an ignorant comment about why I don’t want my STI to have grease on
the headliner the steering wheel ect.. I don’t have a sink in my garage .
The only thing I didn’t go into detail on in the video is the Gap of the
plug.

Hi, I was wondering my brother has an 05 sti and only has 49k on it and it
will crank but seem like there is no fuel feeding to the motor. The fuel
pump is good but dont know where to locate the filter. we went to autozone
and bought a new crank sensor and that didnt fix anything. Was just
wondering can it be a cause if spark plugs or ecu?

svtwrc says:

@FastFerrariF355 thanks I am glad it helped. Had to gap mine as well ,was
told they were gapped from the factory? Some are gapped some not, have had
zero problems in 30 k miles with the iridium.

oil eats skin. ware gloves!

engiGamer says:

If you use NGK ILFR6B plugs you dont need to gap they should come gapped
.030 inch

Wang Ke Jie says:

I tried this today.. for the love of GOD please get a flexible rachet for
this job… the engine design on the EJ257 is really bad… I mean fuck
they didn’t even make enough clearance to get the coil packs out without
forcing them out and potentially damaging the wires. Using ratchet
extensions is a pain, unless you have multiple size small to mid length
extensions.

Thanks for the video!

acroracing says:

nice post man. good video. helps a lot. thanks

svtwrc says:

@XiongCharlie Try the intake clamps and all the intercooler bolts , make
sure all hoses are connected it may be a vacuum issue. The fuel filter is
in the tank with the pump. I would go to fuel last unless you have some
other reason to believe its fuel related. New plugs would not hurt as only
10k from your spark plug interval for replacement . For the ECU try to
borrow a code reader or Cobb tuner to read codes for problems. What has
been done to this STi?

Man what a bitch to do on a boxer engine, I thought my rx8 was a bitch to
do at first but compared to this, it’s a fuken cake walk

1995RangeRover says:

WOW PRETTY INVOLVED BUT DO-ABLE! GOOD WORK BRO!

Stacka Bibles says:

Why even comment on the gloves he’s wearing…..you do realize a LARGE
majority of professional technicians in dealerships wear rubber gloves.
What a dbag.

FastFerrariF355 says:

@svtwrc ….nice vid. I used NGK (6619) LFR6AIX-11 Iridium IX Spark Plugs
on my 2005 STI, I did have to re-gap them, not a big deal. I thought your
video was well done and saved me some time changing my plugs. Thank you.

xxZR2xx says:

are you honestly that scared to get oil and grease on your hands, but good
job and detailed
