Stealth install of a Light Bar on my Subaru

Stealth install of a Light Bar on my Subaru

This is a how to, review, demonstration, and “why?” video for a stealth / hidden light bar install on my 2017 Subaru Outback.

AuxBeam was nice enough to send me their 22″ Light Beam and I finally got around to editing a video.

I hope you enjoy it.

First off, I like the jacked up skid plate mounted on the wall like a trophy haha.

but I do like how clean that looks, I might have to do that with my forester wilderness. just got ditch lights for that in anticipation of a drive out to CO next year, but that's about the only visible offroad lighting I'd like to have on my car.

hey Brucey! So I have a 2015 Outback 3.6r which came with the same HID and Halogen lights yours has. What I ended up doing is going on amazon and finding some cheap ballast/igniters and modifying them so I can run LED lights for the low beams. I then swapped out my halogen high beams with LED. So now it’s fully LED and the lights work much better in my opinion. The modification to the ballast/igniter is stupidly easy to do. I got cheap ones just so I didn’t wreck my good OEM ones and I can switch back to HID at any time since I didn’t make any mods to the headlight just to the cheap ballasts. My issue with the HID is they can be expensive to replace (I tried using cheaper HID lamp replacements when one failed and they didn’t last long and were dimmer). The other issue with HID is they slowly get more yellow over time. Anyway I like what you did with the LED light bar and I may do the same and now you know that it’s actually easy to switch over the HID to LED. Feel free to ask me if your interested.

Love the Rode Wireless Go Mic! We use ours every video. Sounds great

Does this increase your CVT temperatures at all given its location in front of the factory CVT Cooler?

Connor Dobbins says:

Have you been able to find a wiring config that allows you set the lightbar to On/Off/Controlled by High Beam switch? I would love the same functionality for my car but have not found a solution yet
