You have to love critics for their lack of imagination. One can use an
adhesive to address the plastic to metal issues, and use a plastic and or
fiberglass layer.

Plastics like PBI are as strong as steel and have a higher melt point than
AL. One could even 3d print ABS and use an adhesive. Just cut the rust out
first and then use a rust proofing compound to prevent oxidation.

diver dave says:

nice job…. i like the wax paper trick !

Luis Hernandez says:

Good job!

Jeanne Durocher says:

Really enjoyed this video…inspiration for my 1998 Windstar Van, “Hazel”!

Martin Farmer says:

Innovative and budget wise! Nice!!! Thanx for the tip

helaya100 says:

Have you heard of Household Wage Project? Search for it on Google, it’s
awesome. I have been generating $10,000 a week using it.

Drewhon71 says:

Nice video I enjoyed watching it thanks for all of the tips. Keep up the
good work.

John Deaton says:

isnt that how some fiber glasses are made? with layers of some weird cloth,
and that pudy stuff?

Rainis Fowler says:

awesome i like how that holds up and once you smooth it out you can just
get the paint code to your vehicle and have a paint company match your
paint in a spray can and spray it on awesome video BUMP will be using this

jeffrey gussman says:

i like the wax paper trick, you do what you have to to keep crap box
vehicles together unless your wealthy.

redwhiteblue91 says:

You’re using bondo on fibreglass mat… you need resin not body filler!

North Perth Mechanics says:

Great! This is one of the ways in repairing rusty things in your car. Good
job!

19psi says:

Has your brain been completely fried out on something like Ritalin, in that
you couldn’t comprehend my post?

TheUbermutant says:

awesome, good work

davi j says:

horrible video.. do it right or dont do it at all.. fiberglass does not
stay bonded to metal over time!!!

davi j says:

do it right or dont do it at all jackass

Chris Evans says:

Great video, a real help! Cheers

Joe Tompkins says:

Thank you so much for posting this video – such an inspiration to me. Thank
you.

mirandaenjohn07 says:

isnt it better to cut the rotten part out, and weld a new piece in it?? I
got my 96 Eclipe rotten on several places, nd just the places where a
bridge could lift it. Then you cant use fiberglass, cause if you put it on
a bridge then….not good.

Jake Stern says:

Bondo takes quite a few hours to properly harden. This stuff is solid
within an hour.

Mike Dell says:

Next time grab yourself a $2.00 bondo spreader and save yourself a ton of
time forming the fiberglass by hand. Not a bad job by the way. 25yr bodyman
and painter

magentawave says:

He suggested using something like Rust Mort on the rust first.

magentawave says:

Are you insane?

magentawave says:

Great job and I learned a lot from this video! The technique of using body
filler with glass to laminate the cloth and then smoooshing everything down
with wax paper was awesome! Thanks.

absteven says:

thats not the good way to repair the rusted panel , the rusted will
continuing eating your good panel …

Linda Lee says:

You The Man,Thank you for your help.

mediasmoker says:

From what I’ve seen, most body shops operate like a discount $12 haircut
chain store…get ’em in & out. So often you can see the lines, high and
low spots & edges. This repair is no worse than much of the work that I’ve
seen pushed out their doors & you saved yourself a lot of cash. A spatchula
over the paper might get it just a bit flatter. I’ve done my share of body
work and glass work on my own stuff, but that little trick w/ the wax paper
takes it to another level…great job & thank you.

Tony Valente says:

i like the idea off the wax paper. i have a hole in the rocker . going to
try this

Dan Bousho says:

This is a perfect idea for me. I have an older car that I don’t want to let
go all to crud and there are no patch panels for the rusted area. Thanks!

M DC says:

Kill a lot of people? LOL

dingo27mobile says:

OK, if most of them wont screw me in ass, or duplicate my keys…

dingo27mobile says:

Nice, this is exactly what i need to do on my car (only hole is smaller). I
just wondered what tip i would use for my dremel, and it seems that simple
sandpaper drum worked like charm, i did not thought about that…

Donn H says:

Thanks for doing this. It’s a nice easy way to do a repair but for most of
us we need a little help from someone like you before even attempting it.
Sorry you have to put up with the self righteous idiot twit factor. It’s
all throughout You Tube. Nasty stupid critics who don’t appreciate
anything. Keep up the good work. You’re an inspiration.

Daniel Degn says:

What a piece of shitty job!

Daniel Degn says:

Only in America!

ChevyBM says:

Nice work! But I would have welded that!

Eric Moore says:

I like it … gave me a few idea’s.. thanks man.. saved my truck from the
scap yard..at least for a couple years….

Ed Corb says:

he said its just a quick cheap fix for trying to get rid of rust. common
sense should tell most of you he aint trying to do a show car type repair.

Ipitome says:

what? this is a legit way of doing it. It’s just not covered by anyone’s
warranty. And it’s definitely not the right way…

teofril says:

Very good, I used this tip to remove drill hols from my handrails !

Tim Johansson says:

I hope people understand tid is a joke…

nckkinney says:

I did something similar… I used dry wall screens and bondo. Works like a
charm… and you can sand it down no problems

cybot63 says:

I used long hair fiberglass on green plastic bag mix up with hardener to
cover big holes just to hold the fiberglass till it hardens and you roll it
out with a round paper tube to get it smooth.

itmunltd says:

and to prevent further rust which i think is more important here

Glen Bradley says:

that stuff dries so damn fast! good thing you’re quick!

Glen Bradley says:

btw you are alot better with this stuff than i am haha

allan weir says:
