Anything is possible, but it’s not easier.

Dinko Tr says:

Hi Brian, Is it possible to remove the engine and transmission, in this
Subaru as one piece?

Jim LeClair says:

excellent video…I will be tearing into my 99 next week.

skyboltone says:

I asked you in another vid where this vid was. And, here it is. Thanks

briansmobile1 says:

Dealership of the wrecking yard. It’s on the drivers side head to intake
manifold on the back side.

Andy Brown says:

Where can i find an EGR tube?

john savill says:

Dusty England says:

Brian, your videos have helped me immensely. Thank you very much. My escort
timing is absolutely perfect adn I am doing a Subaru for a friend and
thanks to you it is going well.

lone .crusaider says:

Awesome, I wanted to make sure I did my 01 outback right. Thanks

Shawn Landers says:

Awesome video as usual!

rowan clayton says:

what head gasket kit would you use for a 98′ twin cam ej25? and what is
your opinion on headstuds?

briansmobile1 says:

I use the Fel-pro blue coated ones. I prefer the bolts for a daily driver
for the odd chance you can do it motor-in on the roadside if needed. If
it’s a race car- the studs are the way to go.

briansmobile1 says:

Thanks Shawn!

ariverdog says:

hey brian, i have a 96 legacy outback with the 2.2. do you have to pull the
intake manifold to pull the motor?

alexander ramirez says:

“by the book” son in other words your trying to screw the tech off right???

briansmobile1 says:

You’re welcome! You’re awesome! Just think- the more empowered you become,
the better equipped you are to help yourself and everyone around you. AND
you’ll be happier, and have a better outlook about yourself and life in
general too! Thank YOU for being brave, smart, and confident enough to take
on the tasks that face you and for going to the internet to get the info
you needed. You inspire ME!

briansmobile1 says:

Please tell me more about this “piston cap” and how you came to know it was
stopping the motor from turning.

Bob Russo says:

Then I’ll be watching this several more times. The wrenches come out
tomorrow. I need to turn my 3 cylinder back into a 4 cylinder. Thanks for
the inspiration & video.

briansmobile1 says:

I don’t know.- possibly not, but I’m not sure.

joe smith says:

Brian I am not able to free the bottom nut holding the engine to
transmission on the drivers side. Not much room to use a 14 mil socket on a
1/2 shaft which I need to crack the nut lose. What do you normally used to
free this nut? Everything is ready to go I just have this last nut holding
the engine in. Thanks Joe

bartbenzo says:

Hey Brian, i just bought a RHD 1996 wrx sti *EJ20K* after 4 days of abuse
the thing just started knocking lol so Ive found a EJ20G will i be able to
just change the intake manifold from the K to the G… and will that work
ANY HELP WOULD BE NICE

Jeff Sedlmayr says:

Do you have a video for installing one of these engines? I have a 2002
subaru outback 2.5 engine!

briansmobile1 says:

Check to see if there’s more bolts first and formost. If they ARE all out
then use a penetrating oil all the way around, but especially on the sides
where the alignment dowels are. ( you have an extra bolt on each side on
that motor.)

grandamy12 says:

you dont happen to live in oklahoma? my 99 outback limited is knocking and
one person says lifter and one says rod bearing…ugh

briansmobile1 says:

Oh heavens no. What a mess. Just make sure you leave the torque converter
in there snug. (unbolt it first before pulling the motor.)

Brem101 says:

was wondering if you happen to know if the 2.2 for a 92 legacy is the same
as the 2.2 they put in the 97 legacy? not the outback

Bob Russo says:

…lot’s of PB blaster & gentle whacking. Now the engine goes off to a
factory trained Subaru guy to do the engine work. The next time it’ll come
out much faster 🙂

jrmym2 says:

What kind of name is Brain?

nukeurhouse12 says:

Hello..I cracked my headgasket and cracked my head on 05 WRX..my mechanic
said that he will shave the heads. And by the end I will loose 10% of
vacuum! does it mean I will loose power as well. AND does it even worth
fixing?, because I was planning on upgrading my turbo. Do you think the
engine will handle 275 – 285 hp!? thank you! love your videos very
informing!

LakeTahoeWonders says:

Thank you again! Brian…You are the Man! I could use this one!!! -LTW

briansmobile1 says:

It’s easier than you think. Buck up little camper!

joel graves says:

Bob Russo says:

Any differences between this and a 2005 LGT that come to mind? (great
