How to Make Braided AN Fuel Line Subaru STI (Aeromotive A1000)

How to Make Braided AN Fuel Line Subaru STI (Aeromotive A1000)

Have had a lot of people asking for this video since we were working on the 2017 STI and I did the PTFE Fuel line on that car so here we go! Making fuel line is much easier than you would think. It is pretty plug and play as long as you can do some basic measurements. Overall using AN Lines over slip fit joints typically makes for a leak free seal. We are using a variety of -6 AN Lines with some -6 Braided fuel line. I decided to use the Aeromotive A1000 Fuel Pressure Regulator with my set up as well. This is always my go to regulator for any aftermarket application. Regardless hope the video helps, also cover where to run the fuel line. This is fairly applicable to all 2002-2020 Subaru WRXs and STIs.

James j says:

When installing the fuel pressure gauge to the fpr do you use some kind of sealant?

Juan Fierro says:

Any link for the clip lines that attach to the fuel lines on the fire wall side

Anthony Feliciano says:

Question, do you run fuel damper on any of your cars ?

Devon Walters says:

What were the quick connect barbed fittings you used for the hardlines coming from the fire wall. Also doing this setup where do you run the evap line too. I’m lost as to what you do with that line coming off the firewall.

Alex Vargas says:

What do you do with the evap hose?

Daniel Sanchez says:

I have this same fitting but can't some how figure out how to connect it to the sensor

hugo hernandez says:

awesome informative video! I'm replacing the return line on my sti and I'm ordering the -6 braided hose, is it 3/8 diameter?

Rodolfo Mendez says:

Hey I’m having trouble with the firewall lines they don’t not fit on the after market fuel line I bought could you explain how to connect them?

jesse ver says:

first of all, been following you for years!

now i have been building my car for a year, and have run into a strange problem that i cant seem to get my head around. i bought the aeromitive fuel lines and AN fitting, FPR and rails with side feed injectors. since i have installed them i keep getting fault code that reads injector cyl 3 and 4 voltage low. when i return the stock fuel rails there is no problem and no fault codes. swapped in new injectors and got them scaled, put the aeromitive rails back in and same fault code. I have changed wiring harness, ECU. same problem. put back stock rails and problem gone. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??? any help would be highly appreciated.

Logan says:

Dude @smeedia,
I’m currently doing the same setup but with stock TGV Sensors, because well..you know.
I went with the IAG FPR, I have a question, the -6 an fittings to the FPR, can I run a -6 an to 3/8 npt? Thanks

Bass 21 says:

What is done with the EVAP line?

AG Giannakos says:

Had problems overtime. gauges go bad from vibration when mounting on the engine. Better to mount on the firewall or strut tower for longevity

Sean Gardner says:

Hey Tanner, I found the fittings I need for the FPR, where did you get your quick connects with barbed ends and the clamps that hold the hose the end? Actually what size for the end that connects to the hard lines?

Sean Gardner says:

Hey Tanner, I am looking at the A1000 fpr, should I get the gen 2 one or the original, I have 2021 STI. Also I am a bit confused on which a/n fittings, quick connects to get, size wise. I am just doing the lines from the firewall to the top of the manifold at this time. Thanks for your help and great videos.

Dan Johnson says:

Tanner – I have a question. I followed that link to the line you suggested. It looks to be a CPE line and in the description it says it’s NOT okay for E85. Is that right? Should I run PTFE if I plan to go E85 later or is CPE actually fine and/or better for some reason? Also, do you think 20’ is enough or would you go with a different length? Any updates/recommendations on this process you have in hindsight would be appreciated. You said in another comment that the hardline adapters sucked? Lmk. Thanks!

Pete Rose says:

You are a sti pimp brother! Thanks for the vid!!
