They seem like tricky buggers to get at to change out….

dust covers are meant to prevent dust and ice build up. im guessing since we have projector lenses those are a prevention method for that. the hole drilling isnt too bad. just need a hole big enough to fit the wiring. takes 10 mins to do if anything and much more than tryna put the cover over the wires which ive done in the past cutting my wires or leaving them off… just my opinion
I have a question, are the dust covers necessary or will the headlight fog without them?

Hey, I have a 11wrx and my xenon HID kit isn’t working right I don’t think. I have tried using other HID kits and it seems like the same problem happens to them too. Is it my car? My HID’s automatically turns itself off when I’m driving. Around every 5 minutes one or more HID bulbs(including fogs) shuts off. I’ve gotten two tickets because of them so I removed them and went back to my halogen bulbs which works just fine. I’ve searched everywhere for answers but can’t find any.

Really well done – congrats! Only thing: would you wear nitrile gloves when handling the bulb assembly – to prevent oils from our skin making contact? Or is that necessary?

Great video! Very helpful. A friend of mine paid to have his installed, and I was planning on doing the same. After watching your video, I’m more than up for installing them myself. The only question I have would be: Do you think I would require the a relay? I read somewhere about protecting the ballast, but of courseI cannot find where I read it. What do you think?
How do you know what size to drill?
I don’t want to be a stick in the mud, but the first thing you do when you want to tinker with the electrical bits is removing the battery negative lead.
would this be similar for an ’04 Forester?
are there any other products u have that dont need to require to drill a hole into the dust cap? or any products that dont use the ballast? even with LED lights?
Is there a difference between a premium and a regular ballast?

Defective ballasts that have become inefficient over time, or inadequate power being provided from your stock vehicle wiring etc.

I have a 2011 impreza the low beams aren’t used as day time lights. So I wouldn’t need a wiring harness but sometimes when I turn them on they shut off and I need to give it some time before I can turn them on again. I found that if you turn the lights on before you start the engine they will work properly most of the time, but how can I fix these lights and get them to turn on an stay on?
If your WRX uses daytime running lights on the low beam, you will need to use both the accessory wiring harness as well as the DRL capacitor to prevent flickering. For this installation, there is no modification to the battery terminal or any connection necessary. This installation demonstrations uses power directly from the stock connectors from the headlights themselves.
I have an ’07 Impreza, I’ve heard there’s something with the daytime running lights that I might need to disable before installing the HIDs, or something about the ballasts not being compatible. Any thing I should be worried about?
