For future reference: You are supposed to loosen or tighten the nut first, not the bolt. Sometimes that's just not an option though. For the Subaru struts, put a wrench on the nut and turn the bolt. Remember to mark the heads of the eccentric bolts so you can avoid shredding the tires on the way to the alignment shop.
