Subaru Liberty 2008 :

Just had the same 3 dash lights warnings & all the codes read them as , air temp / intake issues : I cleaned the MAS sensor & replaced the air filter & my oil was also low so I topped it up, I also put injector cleaner fluid in the tank as for good measure, the lights disappeared. I drove for 20 mins & still all seems normal

I appreciate the help! I own a 2008 subaru impreza 2.5i. And this code came on. P0028. Also while driving did not allow me to pass 4,000RPM. It just bogged/lagged. I took off the both switches, indeed they were dirty and with oil. Cleaned them with some BRAKE CLEANER and paper towels.
Went for a test drive today and nothing came on!
UPDATE After 250km P0026 came back on. Will have to change the solenoid.

You didn’t show how u took it off

Mikey Flores says:

Can a slightly high oil level also set this code off?

Konrad wagner says:

Can’t see the part

Mike Harville says:

Would be nice to actually see you pull the switches out to see how to actually do it.

Gon try it out. Salute Bradda

Thank you very much for the video. So if cleaning those switches don’t work, what is their name? I just went to autozone and asked for the valve control sensors but they didn’t know what I referred to.

Dude. You're a lifesaver. I have a 3.5 hour drive home right now and for some reason CEL on = no cruise control in this car. Your video just helped me eliminate the problem. Thank you so much!

Hello I need an assistant subaru ez30 2006

ClimbGuy says:

Checked the oil level. It looked good. Removed the sensors and put them back on (they looked very clean). Reset the code and took it for a test drive. So far so good.

Livio Poles says:

Thank you Matt! your tutorial was wright on. Fixed my problem by adding oil and resting code by disconnecting and reconnecting battery lead.

B Gable says:

Note there are two items involved here. One is the sensor which is white and has a diaphragm in it that senses the pressure change(~35.00). The other is the VVL variable value lift solenoid(~175.00) This is what does the actual work. I has to replace both when I through a P0028 code.

I would have been I little more helpful if you would have focused and held the camera longer when you pointed these to parts out.

Thanks for the video. much appreciated

If I understood right the problem was with oil pressure switch (white)? I have a P0026 on EJ253 and it appears each 70 miles and after 10 miles disappears. p0026 is on the passenger's or driver's side?

Edwin Rivera says:

Great info. Thanks

Matt Leitholt says:

More on this, my code came back, I moved my oil pressure switch (white switch) to the other side (back passenger side) and the code changed to P0026 which means the right (passenger) side bank. I replaced that switch and all is well again.
