Question. My 2015 3.6r outback is making a noise that is similar to this. I also thought it was coming from the belt. When I checked the tension, it wasn't loose at all. Is there any other reason why the belt would make the noise? Or is the noise is coming from somewhere else. Definitely sounds like it's the belt.

Just got a 2016 wrx limited and this is the exact noise I heard when I drove it off the lot. Brining it back tmr to have them fix it. Hopefully they just do it cause I just got the car

Wow thanks I’m going to try this I took it to the shop and they were trying to tell me it’s the timing belt and it was going to cost 1,000 to fix but I didn’t think it’s the timing belt because it doesn’t always make noise thank you!
