How to fix a Subaru Fuel Smell When Cold – replace this hose!

If your 2000 – 2009 Subaru has a gas smell when cold you should know Subaru issued a TSB and recall for some models. It seems whether it’s a Turbo or 2.5 and an Impreza, WRX, Outback, or Baha, they have a high pressure fuel line (5/16) or two in this exact area that will smell like gas when it is cold outside. The Turbo’s have it under the intake pipe and non-Turbo’s under this large metal bracket. Same spot though. If you don’t want to replace it first try putting another set of clamps on it: 4 clamps in total. Mine had no visible leaks but smelled really bad when cold! Replacing this tiny hose fixed my gas smell when cold on my Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS

Thanks. I’ve tested this for over a month now in -20 to -30 and no more gas smell.
