Written Summary:
I had to recently replace some Subaru key fob batteries for a Subaru Forester so thought I would quickly put a quick DIY video together to show you how to do it yourself and will save yourself a few dollars rather than taking it to your dealership! Its very easy!

There are a few different and similar methods to pop the case open, in this video I used the key to open it. You can also use a screw driver to open it using some of the other slots on the case where the key comes out, they’re all quite easy.

If you do happen to open the case and the silver button comes out loose (its on a spring) you simply just need to clip it back into its slot, you can see how it should look in this video.

The process should be the same for most Subaru’s which have the wireless key fobs (and also the Toyota GR86 or any other cars that use the same style fob). This includes the Subaru Forester, Outback, WRX, WRX STI, Impreza, XV, Crosstrek, BRZ, & Legacy.
