Better have it and not use it, than needing it and not have it..

James Tone says:

Sooooo…how many chips from the drilling went into the water passage? Seemed like a place for a shop towel. The engine was angled so the chips had a prefect place to fall even with oil to catch them…to me a great repair but sloppy craftsmanship..

Carlos Mario Álvarez says:

Ray, our best wishes for you and your family, hope all you will be OK and the Hurricane only bring to you some family time!

Plasmatic says:

Nitric acid will dissolve the steel bolt and leave the aluminum alone. AVE did a video on this years ago but I can't find it now.

Garth Dougherty says:

When I worked at a Kawasaki dealer 30 years ago, we were using Time serts. All the engines we worked on were cast aluminum. Time serts are way better than a heli coil IMHO.

Anthony Galipo says:

Off subject you ok down there ray and the family

CoastKat says:

Ray be safe, why did you not shut the lids now on the tool boxes to prevent rain blowing on your tools?

Roger Fleury says:

475th! GOOD WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON RAY AND THE WIFE UNIT! All my best to the two new employees! Roger in Pierre South Dakota

Paul Nicholson says:

Have you considered fitting some vehicle door/boot seal along the bottom of the roller shutter doors to aid with water tightness and vibration damping for the shop, or is the likelihood of water ingress too low to warrant the time, expense and effort?

Rusty Rouse says:

This is the exact reason I would love for you to work on my suburu! Bc you're like me, if you do something, you do it right & just like you'd expect it to be done for you, by someone else. The person who did most of the work was just trying to get it back together and paid as fast as possible and didn't care about it falling apart!

Rob B says:

I’ve put blue tape on my drill if I need a stop point

ResinBran says:

Stay safe man!

Mike Frazier says:

In my time in the aerospace industry I've used KEENSERTS quite often with good results. These look very similar. Nice repair. Good luck with the storm.

Marty H says:

A little RTV around the bunged hole to fill the scratches to prevent any possible leakage on the water pump?
